Royal Ascot 19th to 23rd of June
6 years 11 months ago - 6 years 11 months ago
Thought I would start an early thread ;
A must for all racing enthusiasts, from the 19th to 23rd of June.
We will have the pleasure of watching 8 group ones, 6 group twos, over the 5 days.
The weather maybe a factor and this may lead to some changes, however just checking the current ante post markets, you may want to take a few early ATC bets to get you in the mood, most of us will be glued to the tv, unless you are lucky enough to be on track?
On Tuesday the 19th
Queen Anne: The obvious choice is RHODODENDRON where Aidan O’Brien can get the punters off to a good start.
Coventry : where Sergei Prokofiev is hard to beat .
King Stand Stakes : This could prove to be one of the meetings highlights with the super fast LADY AURELA vs the naughty but powerful finishing BATTAASH.
St James Palace : I make WITHOUT PAROLE the best bet of the meeting, however trainer Roger Teal might disagree and is positive of a big run from Tip to Win . I punted WP for the 2000Gns at 40/1 and was disappointing when it was scratched as an 8/1 shot, due to a hoof problem.
Admittedly it’s last win was slightly workman like rather than spectacular, but I feel the horse is getting better with each race and Frankie can assure maximum assistance from the saddle.
On Wednesday the 20th
Queens Vase : where we could see O’Brien again in the winners box with Southern France.
Duke of Cambridge: Hydrangea is the early section.
Prince of Wales : look no further than CRACKSMAN his last 2 wins have been goosebump material for different reasons, a real machine.
Royal Hunt Cup : Roger Varian can win this with Sharja Bridge at big odds ew
Thursday 21st
Ribblesdale: fancy Lah Ti Dar for John Gosden
Gold Cup: should be another cracker with Order of St George vs Stradivarius, I give slight preference to George .
Friday 22nd
King Edward Vll : Mark Johnson has a strong hand with Mildenberger and Dee Ex Bee.
Commonwealth Cup: where we could see O’Brien again with Sioux Nation
Coronation Stakes: I will going with Andre Fabre charge Wind Chimes.
Saturday 23rd
Hardwicke : one of the best bets of the week, will be Sir Michael Stoute’s CRYSTAL OCEAN.
Diamond Jubilee: can go to the Clive Cox flying machine HARRY ANGEL, kept away from Battaash and Lady Aurelia .
Workingham : I am going ew on Gold Vibe to eventually get out the number two box to beat Dreamfields.
The early selections for next weeks:
RHODODENDRON***
WITHOUT PAROLE *****
CRACKSMAN*****
CRYSTAL OCEAN*****
HARRY ANGEL***
Have a wonderful week and
Good Punting

The one horse that you can say for sure will win is Harry Angel
I think that there will be more big price winners this year as the quality just gets better and better and even the bookies get it wrong at times

At Epsom there was a comment passed by Brough Scott ,just after Cracksman's run in the Coronation Cup.
He reckoned that he had a very tough race and hoped it hadn't left a mark on him.
It might be nothing but to me he is best watched.

You might be correct but the horse did not like Epsom and loves Ascot ...and you can never trust what a "Scott" says

Lady Aurelia appears the right one for King Stand should lead all the way and Battaash might battle to catch
Take the 22/10 now
Good punting
