The greatest soccer show on earth kicks off at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Thursday afternoon 14 June and TAB is offering four exciting once-off bets on the football showpiece that will give anybody the chance to win big.
As normal, this global soccer extravaganza will be an absolute treat for football fans as the top 32 footballing nations battle it out in 64 matches across four weeks. The final takes place on Sunday 15 July at the same venue as the opener.
The four bets are easy to play and the payouts will be boosted by bonuses totalling R300,000 from TAB. They will be in addition to TAB’s range of Soccer 1, Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10 and Soccer 13 bets, which will be offered as normal through the tournament.
Betting on the four pools is already open and bets can be taken until the opening match kicks off on 14 June.
Here are the details of the four bets:
* WIN: Pick the country you reckon will win the FINAL.
Pool starts with R125,000 bonus from TAB; R1 unit; R4 minimum bet.
* PLACE: Predict any one of the four countries to reach the SEMI-FINALS.
Pool starts with R75,000 add-in from TAB; R1 unit; R4 minimum bet.
* EXACTA BOX: Predict the two countries to reach the FINAL.
Pool starts with R25,000 from TAB. Choose 2 teams ONLY for R2 - you cannot choose more or less than two teams. Cost R2 per bet or multiples thereof, so take bet twice for R4 or four times for R8 etc. You win if the two countries selected reach the final.
* QUARTET BOX: Predict the four countries to reach the SEMI-FINALS.
R75,000 TAB bonus added to pool. Choose four teams ONLY for R24 - you cannot choose more or less than four teams. Cost R24 per bet and you can take bet twice for R48 or three times for R72 etc. You win if the four countries selected are the semi-finalists.
“TAB is excited to be offering the four bets,” said Phumelela betting executive Vee Moodley. “They were offered for the first time four years ago and were a big hit with soccer fans. Full details of how to play the bets are available in our stores.”
Punters playing TAB’s four special bets on the world’s greatest soccer tournament must utilise the number allocated to each country to bet.
Each country has been allocated a unique number with the exception of the three lowest-rated countries - Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Japan. They have been grouped together as No 30 for the purposes of all bets.
The 32 participating nations are divided into eight groups and only two teams from each group can progress to the knockout stages. So do not choose more than two teams from any one group in Quartet box bets.

Group A: Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay.
Group B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran.
Group C: France, Australia, Peru, Denmark.
Group Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria.
Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia.
Group F: Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea.
Group G: Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England.
Group H: Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan.

He is not far off as it has snowed in June in Russia
