"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Saturday 5 June Workings..
16 years 11 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows.
The 1st runner we wanted 2.7 and with being around 2.96 on arrival and then a non runner and 8.3% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 2.56. The price did drop down to us, but not much matched, so we had a lay at 2.56. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.86 (was 3.0 before reductions) and so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result......
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.6 and with being around 1.57 on arrival, we had a lay at 1.57. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders did get there trade back prices in running, so got away with it...
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.2 and with being around 2.94 on arrival and although dropping down in price, the price still never came down to our lay price and so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a good leave...
The 4th runner we wanted 2.5 and with being around 2.7 on arrival and then dropping down to us and way beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The lay went and won, so the gamble landed, another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Traders again got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....
The 5th runner we wanted 3.3 and with being 3.2 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result......
The 6th runner we wanted 2.2, but a non runner and 9.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.1. The price was a well supported 1.73 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at 1.73 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...........
The 7th and final runner we wanted 2.8 and with being around 2.52 on arrival we had a lay at 2.52. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.1 and beyond, so a chance for traders and remaining builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won, so yet another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Glad of the 'free' lay now though.....
.WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...............(3 from the first 4 (75%) went and won - and 5 from the 7 (71.5%) and so an ultra tough session and we did well to walk away levels, or a small loss, so very well battled guys)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Finished Level..........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and after a decent start they ended up level after their 4th lay (the 5th runner) and so with being level and only one potential lay left and no room at all for error, they take the levels and run...
'Bank builder' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.57 max, but a poor result see them go behind.........Then came their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.5 max, but another poor result see them go a bit more adrift...........They then had their 3rd lay (the 5th runner) at 3.2 max and a good result see them recoup a nice chunk..........They then had their 4th lay (the 6th runner) at 1.73 max, but a poor result see them give a little more away and 4 runner builders ended up conceding 0.4 of a target at worst....
5 runner target went looking for their 5th and final lay, but they only got a 'free' lay and that turned out to be relief as it won, so they end the session conceding 1.1 targets...

'Traders' either won, or broke level on all their trades and so with all those winners they played very well to win a little bit...
So a very tough session with 71.5% winners, but we played it as best we could and builders walk away relieved they limited any damage very well. Rollers walked away levels, so they'll be happy enough about that with all those winners going in again. Speak soon.
Marc.

All the races were priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10.02am.
That's what we have to work around for this afternoon then. Not many for a Saturday, but we do have enough to go into battle over, so despite it looking tough with little, if any, room for error early, we'll keep the discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
