R2 Milesende - good support in the betting market for the first timer; give the De Kock runner a fright?
R3 That's Life
R4 Tandeva and Golden Man
R5 Levi Lady
R6 Littlewood and Angelic
R7 If Al Danza was drawn better would be my best bet for the day @ 14/1...best value...
R8 Jackman, Darkest Hour and Prince Swarovski...

Don't often post, here's my 2cents [aka which horses not to back  ]
Race 3 - That’s life the horse to beat but @ 15/20 about the win, rather take Crassus to place at 21/10 - don’t see it out the top 4, can’t believe 20/1! Saw some 17/10 about That's life on Sunday night, but that didn't last long at all.
Race 4 - I see the winner coming from one of two horses, with preference to Greasepaint over Cathedral county. Good value in the place at 17/20 to run top 4 looks a blinder. Include all night flight, magic and Lauren Du Var in wider perms.
Race 5 - looks to be a bit more competitive, with Macadamia and Levi lady looking to fight it out - Cals Crush and Lady of the world doing best work late.
Race 6 - looks like the older horses have the edge here - an upset can be delivered. Dawn flight, nicely in here with the claim and I thought 3/1 top 3 places looks value and realistic. Throw in Summer Wind into larger perms in case runs to best. End Game can win and Gottalottaluv must have a chance.
Race 7 - minefield. Thrown pretty much the field in exotics.
Race 8 - another open looking affair, all I can say is that I don’t like Sail for joy. Perhaps Refuge for a top 4 finish at 14/10, drawn widest but that’s striker’s problem.
P6: 1/ 5,7,11,13,14/ 2,4,5,9/ 1,2,5,10,11/ 3-7,9-13/ 1,3,6-9,12,13.....R8000.

Comments from various trainers about their runners at the Vaal on Tuesday.
March 19, 2018
Race 1
Lucky Houdalakis
Pin Up Fold – Could run in the money, but is been a bit of a headache. We just want to get that win out of her. Hopefully Phillip can ride a nice race so we can get that win and, then we’ll discuss where we going further.
Stephen Moffatt (Assistant trainer Phillip Labuschagne)
One Dollar Massage – Her last two races weren’t bad. It’s a tough draw (No 11) to overcome, but we’re confident she’ll run a good race.
Romeo Francis
Clique – the work rider (B. Mlangeni) knows the horse well. I’m sure she’ll finish in the first five.
Race 4
Lucky Houdalakis
Just As I Said – He is up in the ratings and never got his relief for being off for six month, but nevertheless, I think 1000m is a bit short for him. I’m heading him to the Senor Santa Stakes (Grade 2) – this is more of a gallop for him.
Stephen Moffatt (Assistant trainer Phillip Labuschagne)
Clever Guy – It’s his third run after a long lay-off. He’s working very well and, has a great jockey (Piere Strydom) on so we give him a big chance in this race. Our best runner on the day.
Race 5
Memphis Belle – She’s a small filly, she’s quick and always does her best. I gave her a break, she worked hard. This is her second run, but I don’t think that means much with sprinters so hopefully she gives a good account of herself.
Race 6
Lucky Houdalakis
Littlewood – Fair run out the maidens, I think she’s an improving filly. She is still a bit weak, but I think this is going to be her trip.
Romeo Francis
Purdey – is very well, but unfortunately coming back from her last workout she got a bit fresh and nicked herself behind so I’m not sure I’ll run her. Maybe, but all depends on how she is today.
Race 7
Lucky Houdalakis
Teenage Dream – She’s all heart. This is a big jump, she’s been winning in 60s and 70s and now she’s jumping to a merit rating 93 I think. But, every time I think well this is it – she keeps defying me – well let her just keep defying me, I don’t have a problem with that!
Stephen Moffatt (Assistant trainer Phillip Labuschagne)
Rouge Allure – is the pick of the two horses in the race. She’s working very well and, is always a big trier.
Kirkconnel Lass – has a good draw and always tries. She’s a very nice horse.
Race 8
Fabian Habib
Sail For Joy – With these horses especially when pushing their merit rating up, you battle to find races so you have to run them where you can just to keep them fit. But, obviously Sail For Joy is the stable elect from that draw (No 3). He’s a strong front runner, got the draw and Ryan Munger up. It is a very, very competitive field so we hoping for a good run.
Lucky Houdalakis
Huyssteen – I don’t believe I’ve got to the bottom of him. I honestly think he’s better than what his form shows. There are one or two things we still need to sort out, but I’m hoping for him to run a good race tomorrow.
Refuge – Maybe back-end of Quartets. It’s not easy from that draw (No 14). Piere Strydom knows the horse well and will be trying.

Our Shining Star. Take as much of the 5-1 that you can now.
Will shorten before race time.
