I'm guessing after his Cape runs his merit rating had dropped to 114 then with the 6point increase given to all it went to 120?
A quick look at the CFC where he finished 1.25 l behind Sgt hardy would put that about right as the winner was given a 117 in that (now 123)

I personally thought or cant understand the change in Lebo's Legend yesterday , got 5 points for running second to down to zero , down to zero got nothing then another 6 points so went from 86 to 97. Any idea why ? as he ran down field as a favourite yesterday , cant see his connections and trainer to happy about that.

Some of the new ratings seem a bit 'off' - but I guess as we are not in a position to know what a horse's ratings was before the increase came into effect, we are mostly guessing .....

What I am wondering about, is if the program will be adjusted as well ... say you have a horse (rated 70 for example) that you were aiming at a specific race (say MR 70) now suddenly the horse is a 76 and the trainer has to make other plans .....

When he ran 2nd both him and down to zero ran to 91 ratings...thats why dtz didnt get a penalty because he is ran of a 91 rating and LL from a 86 rating..... both got the added 6 ratingg points like every other horse in the country on 1 march. Yesterday both ran in a 3yo handicap race where all ran with the 6 point increased points . Down to zero ran to his new 97 rating . LL ran a shocker but proved before he is a 97.
Connections or trainer cannot complain ... no reason to.
Hope it make sense Warren

warren the connections of lobo legend must have requested the increase because in progress plates only the WINNER CAN BE SUBJECT TO A RATING INCREASE UNLESS REQUESTED BY THE CONNECTIONS..probably trying to qualify him for features and concerned they will be eliminated due to their lower rating

Nothing is "off."... everyone is in the position to see the ratings updated on basicly a daily basis . All horses got 6 points added 1 March. www.nhra.co.za/index.php/racing/merit-ratings

Program wont be adjusted . We all started planning again when it was announced long before the increase .

Correct.

I'm sorry Ziets, clearly 'some' of us are more 'in the know' than others - because if one looks at LL's rating being increased, how should the general public KNOW that his rating was actually increased (perhaps at the request of the connections) from 86 to 91 (before the 6 points increase) - so as Warren suggests if one just looks at the MR as reflected in the Computaform on Saturday, surely it seems 'off' ..... and I' sure there are quite a few others that I can quote

Nobody have to be in the know its all there updated daily, in pinnacle races and certain condition races only the winner can get penalised but if connections request the penalty for his 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th placed horse he should do it next day before handicapper sent through new ratings to be updated . you do your own rating and surely compare it with the current MR figures?
In handicaps you can also request a penalty.... i did it with my own horse Jack Friday .... ran 3rd 13L off the winner being way out at tge weights and a rating of 36. Handicapper could not penalised him because of restrictions but on my request he got the 20 points penalty to make him a 56 ... a week later 1 march he was given another 6 points. Im very happy to have him as a 62 rating because from a 42 i cant get him into races.

Sgt Hardy from 112 to 117. now rated 123. Legal Eagle now 127
TTH from118 down to 114. now rated 120
Live Life 101 to 109. now rated 115
Brutal Force from 108 to 112. now 118

9 points for sgt hardy penalty for a 1 Length win. seems harsh
