Legrand rouge.......Wrong call again
7 years 3 months ago - 7 years 3 months ago
The horse reared and dislodged the jockey before the gates opened . Surely it should have been scratched .
If the gates opened and he rears then i get it, should be declared a runner .
COLD BLOOD again
If the gates opened and he rears then i get it, should be declared a runner .
COLD BLOOD again

100 percent correct. ...should have been a non runner

I did not see the incident but surely when it comes to the start (and also objections) the stipes should immediately release their video footage to placate punters - Obviously not everyone will be happy with the outcome but we are not dealing with a murder case showing dead bodies so what harm can there be with 20s video clip showing the incident and a text attachment accompanying it explaining the ruling? I have been in totes with guys who feel(and in most cases I agreed with them) they have been robbed and they just pack up in anger and leave and only start punting the next day or a few days later - I trust punters know how to lose generally as most of us lose more often than we win so I doubt if transparency can hurt - I cannot believe I'm saying this but perhaps the stipes need to be more like Trump and tweet their reasons for an action instantly rather than making punters wait 24-72 hours to read a carefully constructed stipes report (if they even know where to find it) We gamblers like instant gratification so give us what we need and deserve as we all want to know why our bets have become bin-fillers.

To me it also looked like Zackey on the horse drawn on the inside pf LGR,seemed to think it might be a false start and only after a few strides starts to ride the horse.(I did not have a cent on either). but these types of incidents should be reflected/recorded in future form guides.

The game is in a shambles. It’s dying. And then we have ridiculous rules, bad decisions and poor attitudes chasing people away. It’s probably high time for me to reconsider how much of my good money I’m throwing after bad.”

....I too did not see the race nor incident.....but listening via audio streaming heard from the commentator that the horse reared in the stalls before the gates opened....this is not grounds for a false start nor is it able to be a non runner either as it is under starters orders.....however had the handler touched the horse or equipment to steady the horse....then it would be construed as interference and the non runner rule applies,....the rule is simple....so did the handler make contact with the horse or equipment before the gates opened....if so...then we are entitled to gripe....I listened further when the replay was being played and the commentator could not be sure if the handler did make contact.....so what was it.....I too lost money in this race as I floated this horse in exotics....in fact I topped up my account before leaving my PC.....even though the commentator sounded sure of a non-starter result giving me a refund to place bets in the next race....only because I do not trust todays interpretation of the rules because not many know or understand them.....

Just the other day a horse in Durban was loaded and standing and was declared a non runner , it's the inconsistency that upset punters
