Sky Tv

Just received an email to tell me that for the 2nd time in 6 months that my subscription is increasing. Now up to £96 per month.

The movie channels repeat, other channels you watch for 8 minutes then endure 5 minutes of adverts

They have 4 ex players sitting in a studio for football all trying to outdo each other

They don’t show a Meydan live and have to settle for a replay 20 mins after a race because they show some shit jumps meetings in Ireland

They employ all these weather forecasters who never get it right

Same goes for the newspaper reviews

OnSky sports news they have two people on when you only actually need one a shift

I can get most shows on Netflix and Amazon prime and BT sport

Soon Sky will be announcing their yearly profit which will be around ten billion

I am calling them in the morning to cancel and I am sure that I will be one of many thousands who will be telling them to stick it

Just being on a few forums and by the looks of it Sky has been inundated with calls from irate customers who are cancelling. Some are getting up to 60% reduction for a year. Sky think that we are all prisoners to them. You get these Sky News readers, that’s all what they are just readers getting paid over £400k a year which is crazy. Enough is enough

Could not wait until the morning so have gotten hold of Sky. Got rid of movie channel, Box sets and kids channels. Now £58 per month for the next 18 months. :) They were very quick to offer this as the don’t want to lose any customers. :cheer:

Hi Chicken,
That's the way to go. but what you must do is cancel your contact which is a months notice they will offer you a better deal A FEW TMES but don't take it. Don't sign at all you will get a call a week before your cancellation is up and they will make you a even better deal like £28 to £34
I did this I was paying £87 pm and just before cut off they phoned and then they give you the deal you should have had SKY is a rip off
Good luck

Nice one CnC. I also downgraded my DSTV after getting Netflix. Only reason I still have DSTV is for the soccer.

The same with me, I would downgrade now if only they offered a stand alone sports bouquet

.....with the ZAR improving daily some of these media boxes are now below ZAR500@......you have to have very decent internet streaming to have them work though....so decent Fibre R800pm
+ R100@pm for each subscription ie Showmax, Netflix etc....same price as DSTV Premium without internet.....
