What the take out of 'International Pools' finds it's way back into SA Stakes?

I know that on 'Local' it's 6% - directly returned from the 'tote' - but what of 'overseas'???

Jim, agreement with RA says 30% of tote share goes to stakes. So on 'local' if take out is on average 23% of turnover = 6.9% in theory, and fixed odds 30% of the betting tax = 0.9% of punter winnings.

Presumably same for international pools on SA racing but no-one has ever confirmed = 30% of whatever cut of the pool P has negotiated with its overseas commingling partners. This probably varies but would be interesting to know what the overall number is.

Also unknown is how much of tote revenue on international racing goes to local stakes?

P listed their profits on overseas betting in 2006 as 9.7 million and in 2007 as 21.3 million
They add it to the local betting income (which they note as Tote, agents, internet and telebet, incl Soccer 6) 2006: 347 and 2007: 370 million
(off total Revenue incl imported products and sale of "SA racing product" of 2.3 billion)

in 2007 expenses:
Racing exp (tracks,training,security etc): 74.5 mil
Jockey Club: 15 mil
Oth operating exp : 59.2 mil
Stakes: 132.7 mil (122.5)
