According to my calcs ....
As per the conditions of the race, there is a Northern Hemisphere allowance of an additional 1 kg - so Cascapedia's weight has been calculated at 56 kgs - i.e. 8 points (1 point WFA, 5 points allowance for fillies and mares and 2 points NH allowance) or 4kgs below the 'base' weight of 60 kgs. On official ratings (Cascapedia at gross 103) and assuming a 5 point WFA (because of her being 6 months behind) that leaves her at a Nett Rating of 98 - meaning that in a handicap (assuming Legal Eagle is at 123) she would have carried 47.5 kgs - i.e. in the Met she will be 8.5 kgs 'out'
As for Oh Susannah, her weight has been calculated at 51.5 kgs - i.e 17 points (12 points WFA, 5 points fillies & mares allowance) or 8.5 kgs below the 'base' weight of 60 kgs. On official ratings (OS at a gross 108 and nett 96) she would have carried 46.5 kgs in a handicap - i.e. in the Met she will be 5 kgs 'out.
that is if one believes that LE is a 123 and OS a 108 .....

......thanx Frodo....not the only one asking as Karel from SP also explained this there.....if the foaling records are right.....only 4 months difference between the two fillies....
.....I would agree that LE is a 123 but over a mile tops....but would not rule him out of getting 2000m.....because milers have won the several odd paced Met's.....Tarry did it with that 50/1 shot when Ramsden's charge did not want to make a pace fearing Tyson would run at them....then that sprinting star of H Adams/D Hodgsen that upstaged when they went a crawl..... :S

Imo LE is as effective over the 2000, in fact on last year's Met I have him running to 122 - which may be a bit high as on that I have Capt America at 117 (which he may not be over 2000) - on the other hand on that Marinaresco would be 118 - which seems pretty accurate.
Already I can see a problem with the pace in this year's race - and for me that would play into the hands of LE and Sail South - Copper Force another who on his QP effort looks attractively priced at the moment

LE won the previous 2 queens plate in a common canter and still couldnt win the met but this year he was hard ridden to win the qp so for me he has very little chance of winning this years met ..besides legal eagle winning 2 races i cant recall tarry winning any other races in the cape this season so his yard in cape town isnt exactly firing and legals hard fought win in the qp over the same pair of brett crawfords he beat in the previous 2 runnings confirms this

Agreed .... I was going to add to my previous post that LE's hard fought win in the QP does distract from his chances ... still he beat them all .... I think a lot will depend on the pace .... what is your fancy ?

He'll probably win it by objection ,just like the July.
