Nice to get some Honesty for a change

A question was asked : -
How do they manage to get barrier trial replays up in 15 minutes while it is only possible for race replays to be uploaded the following day.?
Responce :-
Paulo Mendes of Gold Circle provides a detailed response (paulom@goldcircle.co.za) :
To answer your question regarding the reason we able to upload the barrier trials within 20 minutes as opposed to the races which only start being uploaded after the last race is basically, time restraints and costs.
The barrier trial clip is only about 3 minutes long. No editing and takes roughly 5min to convert to mpg4 format, then it takes roughly 15min to upload to our Gold Circle Racing YouTube Channel. Quick, easy and time to spare before the first race.
A race clip is about 7 to 9 minutes long. There’s a little editing to be done on the race clip, then it will take almost 10 min to convert to mpg4. To upload this file takes about 40min on our current Wi-Fi speed.
All the races only start uploading after the last race & it takes about 6 hours to complete. For the Scottsville race meetings, it obviously takes an hour longer as the laptop has to be set up at the Durban office.
We could most definitely improve on the race day timeline, but it all comes down to cost. We could certainly invest in a Laptop that has 64 or 128meg RAM, a SSD Hard Drive and a Thunderbolt port. This would improve the conversion time to about, conservatively, maybe 3min.
Currently we only have a dedicated 2meg internet connection at Greyville. We could install a dedicated 24meg fibre internet connectivity at Greyville and Scottsville and reduce the upload time to well under 20 minutes. Possibly even use a 4G network, But we would require dedicated speed for consistency.
Any other questions or suggestions, is most welcome. We certainly appreciate the fact that you are making use of the Gold CircleRacing YouTube Channel.
Please pass on the good word to family, friends and neighbours. We always looking for more subscribers.
THANK YOU

That YouTube channel is great.
Would be good if the other provinces also put up their replays on YouTube
Bravo Gold Circle!

I was impressed with the honesty from Mr Paulo Mendes "they just dont have the money".
Would we even get a responce from other parties such as TT and Phum , when asked to comment or reply to that kind of question.

I work with Paolo on Winning Ways and he is the man who uploads the show on Youtube for us.
He also helps with production. Wonderful fellow and extremely efficient. He,Raymond and Debbie who puts the show together, do an incredible job with outdated equipment.

James when u refer to "outdated equipment" you are being a bit harsh on Paul and yourself, but seriously they do a great job putting on winning ways and i experienced first hand what they produce, against all odds.
