Not really a "griper" in this game, but I do have a gripe with using a graded race as a prep....

Front Rank at 14/1 (H/Wood) is worth a go, 8/1 elsewhere
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

The stipes should ask him to clarify before the race
If ever racing had an image problem when it comes to the rules being enforced this seems to be it.
Trainer pretty much goes on record and says they are not there to win (or even run a place) and then the horse is given one of the softest rides ever seen. Go back and watch the replay. The jockey did not use the stick once and doesn't look to have been trying at any stage.
I am not a punter but that this horse was allowed to be a part of a market where people were able to put their money down ( yes, some should have used their discretion but we're talking about the fact that only the hardened fans would know the full picture). What about those who were possibly on course (there's an event happening with lots of new faces upstairs) and heard what a champ this horse is and of his triple crown exploits? Didn't even get a run for their money.
And there was plenty noise made about this horse in various publications before this race. Trainer moaned about the conditions, then backtracked and decided to run, and then says they're there but not hoping to win or run well?
And you want to tell people that moves don't get pulled and all is always above board?

Great Evening at the Night Racing , who says racing is not full of everything - Lots of good racing , drama.
Enjoyed Mother Russia's win very easy , great ride by Craig Z. - Well done to Grant M. and Ryan Munger not there fault the favourite got scratched , I was just pissed I only had places on QUEEN LAURIE. Punters very upset on course with no delay called, but they got a bit out of hand swearing and shouting at Larry who has nothing to do with the start of a race.
Joe Soma's winner in the 2nd was impressive , however one for the note book was the 2nd horse of Candice Dawson D’ ARRIVEE he is huge and still a baby , but is one of those horses that just has such presence in the ring .
Well done to my good friends Kevan Hunter and Gavin Jooste of Acoutstic Insurance - Kevan sponsors the running of the Victory Moon - Great finish - Stiff Tony T . But my money was on the winner so no complaints .
