SCOTIA ON THE WEEKEND!

Good morning to the CLAN on what can be described as genuine T.G.I.F. day!

I really have had such a busy week and trying to fit in my passion has not been easy, check the site, watch "you be the judge", July gallops, entertain visitors, etc, etc.

I was hoping normality would return, but still have a evening out tonight and a 70th Birthday on Saturday [not mine] and a peaceful Sunday at a health spa?

On the subject of "you be the judge", must say enjoyed the show, could have been a bit more controversial, but its another step in the right direction and gets more exposure for the horseracing game. I did feel that some of the questions were not really answered, but from an ABC point of view was pleased that our posts were highlighted and that "the voice of the punter" is having some press via the show, which to me personally was very gratifying. I look forward to future shows and being in the position to give constructive inputs on the way forward for SA racing.

The soccer has been good and the big final between Germany and Spain has materialised and promises to be a cracker!

The tennis is underway, Currie Cup where the big game is WP vs Bulls, on the International front is the Aussies vs French [don't you just hate the French?, I think its the tote based product they have, but you be the judge] and the Argentina vs Italy on offer.

On the racing front Arlington today, Clairwood and Kenilworth Sat and the big T on Sunday, will try and make a flying visit for the "Gungadins Revenge"/ "Ruby Murray", yes we are back on the Indian theme. MDK would appear to have a couple of nice bankers for the exotic players on Sat, and next week is the big one at the Greyville track but unfortunately wont be able to make the trip this year.

On the overseas front its the Irish Derby and New Approach can win, plus today it looks like a couple of hotties can come home lonely, an early double at Doncaster, Peters Gift and Silvanus, plus Autumn Blades in the 2nd at Folkestone for the treble and McCoy the man to follow over the jumps.

The British Open gets under way in a couple of weeks and without Tiger, maybe its time to take a nice e.w on big Ernie at 14/1 ish?

Back to the French.

4 people in the carriage of a train - an Englishman, a pretty young blonde girl, an ugly old woman and a Frenchman.

It all goes dark when the train goes through a tunnel. In the dark there's the sound of an almighty slap, and when the train emerges from the tunnel the Frenchman is rubbing his face, and there's a huge red mark on his cheek.

The old lady thinks "I bet that Frenchman fondled the blonde in the dark and she slapped him"
The pretty young blonde thinks " I bet the Frenchman tried to fondle me in the dark, got the old lady by mistake, and she hit him"
The Frenchman thinks "I bet that Englishman fondled the blonde in the dark, but the blonde thought it was me and hit me"
The Englishman thinks "I hope there's another tunnel coming up soon so I can slap that French tw@t again"

Have a GREAT weekend.

Good punting!
