Not too many that jump out at me; kind of card where I find it difficult to single out anything - so will probably end up including too many in the exotics and end up with too small a percentage
- thoughts:
R1: Ragnarok may have needed his last run after a break; with improvement can go close; however finished only slightly more than 2 lengths in front of Toby Coates who is probably going to die a maiden; so if no improvement is forthcoming, one of the first timers will win - but it's anyone's guess as to which one
R2: De Kock first timer by Silvano, so first impression is that she would improve over further; Amanika another Silvano, so also probably looking for further, Amajory comfortably beaten in weak field and Empress Valley comes off a very long break; so I'm looking towards Keep it Hot to provide some impetus into the BP - while Secret Island also catches my eye - watch any late support for this one
R3: Star of Joburg fair debut and set to improve, must have a chance, but for me I like the way that Square the Circle finished last time, and King of Delta only needs to repeat his penultimate to go close - another de Kock baby complicates matters further
R4: 3 horse contest - I'm not splitting them
R5: African Dynasty my pick here - last run too bad to be true imo and must go close on her penultimate where she finished well in front of Excalibur's Return, who also needs to turn the tables on Cantata Mundi, who looks big value at 14s
R6: Fillies and mares handicap, where most have chances
R7: Some good 3 yr olds return from breaks; Al Fahad gets weight from the other two, but has drawn wide - who knows; safer option for PA's could be the in-form Dan the Lad
R8: Yamoto obvious claims with Shogun (may prefer 1600) - both have drawn wide, so it might pay to consider others like Rebels Champ, Orapa and El Bombero in the P6 - and I also fancy a bit of King and Empire (drawn nicely and has good course and distance form) at these odds
Enjoy
