Jobs for pals, more of the same

So hands up anyone who has seen this very senior position advertised? Hands up anyone who has seen the press release from our favourite gaming and leisure company announcing the retrenchments that are taking place?

Jack Milner: For Phumelela’s new National Retail Executive Nathan Fowler, it’s all about energy and passion. Before joining Phumelela he was with Edcon Retail, with Edgars he managed large teams of people and managed clothing, footwear and apparel premium brands. In Jet, a mass market apparel retailer, among his duties was to grow the business in non-urban areas. In his last assignment for the group he looked after Edgars Active and Legit stores nationally. This experience will benefit me in my new and exciting role at Phumelela.

Nothing strange about this you may think?

Rob received his early education at CBC in Bloemfontein and then the family moved to Johannesburg. “I finished school at Queens High, did my national service and then went straight into Edcon as a 19 or 20 year old.” Rob worked with them for more than two decades, working as the operations director for Edgars and running all their stores. He helped acquire Supermart (rebranded to Jetmart) and helped grow that chain, working as the general manager of merchandise, running marketing and CE

I wonder what Rob this would be?
