My view on how final field will hopefully look for this year VODACOM DURBAN JULY !
(Nr 1 to nr 6 all won preferential and or automatic entry races)
1 edict of nantes
2 al sahem
3 master sabina
4 ten gun salute
5 elusive silva
6 coral fever

7 marinaresco
8 french navy
9 brazuca
10 krambambuli
11 its my turn
12 nightingale
13 mr winsome
14 tilbury fort
15 Safe harbour
16 trophy wife
17 girl on the run
18 pagoda
Reserves
19 horizon
20 Saratoga dancer

Following horses just didnt do enough to justify making final field ,
The conglomarate
The elmo effect
Black arthur ( sporting post had 4 articles in 4 days last week about him, very annoying)
Master switch
Witchcraft
Banner hill
Royal badge
Liege
nebula
Macduff

Preferential consideration to me means they would look at the horse first. I would take one look at Coral Fever and make him a reserve runner at best.

My field is as follows:
1 Marineresco
2 French Navy
3 Master Sabina
4 Brazuka
5 Krambambuli
6 Saratoga Dancer
7 The Conglomerate
8 It's My Turn
9 Ten Gun Salute
10 Nightingale
11 Black Arthur
12 Edict Of Nantes
13 Al Sahem
14 Mr Winsome
15 Elusive Silva
16 Pagoda
17 Tilbury Fort
18 Safe Harbour
Reserves
19 Horizon
20 Coral Fever

Now this might not go down well with many people but based on EARNINGS for the season these are the horses that have EARNED A PLACE FACTUALLY - (we should throw out sales races I think but I did not have time to do that but it also eliminates MR concerns and excuses offered up by trainers that have saved their horses for this race ) I may have missed a few as I did this in a hurry. I personally think Elusive Silva deserves a place and also It's My Turn ... Just another way to look at who as worked for a place and who has talked themselves into contention(the pref races I suppose are fair but Coral Fever did not have to face as strong a field as those that ran in the 1900)

How does your final field look??

For an assistant trainer/trainer/form studier or whatever u are
I do not know how u base ur selections
How can THE CONGLOMERATE IN UR BOOKS NOT GET IN?
Previous winner of the race coming into the race under similar conditions as last year?
Yet u have girl on the run in the field?trophy wife even?
Seriously i dont know what u study from,
Nothing personal but just dont understand it at all.

Surely a spot for sun on Africa though? Smashed Helderberg Blue who ran just behind the South African version of Frankel that is Elusive Silva? Mind you why isn't Helderberg Blue getting a look in, he finished just as close as the mighty Black Arthur did to ES at the weights. And what about crowd pleaser he ran a cracker behind ES? Actually I think the whole formline should get in because if you ran behind Elusive Silva you are good enough to run in the July.

Black Arthur has about as much merit as sun on Africa, Helderberg blue and crowd pleaser to run in the July and that's in black and white and that's the truth. I have however given in to the fact that Black Arthur will get in. The Snaiths have turned into boxing promoters to get the horse in which is a bit sad but hey you got to do what you got to do when the horse isn't good enough to get in on exposed form.
