Janoobi last two runs - Stipe reports

JANOOBI : Nothing obvious detected.
JANOOBI : Nothing obvious detected.
Both times.
That does seem very helpful for future races he runs in.

Im no vet, but if "nothing obvious detected", do they look for the not so obvious?

How many times do we see in Computaform, Jockey - Something Amiss, Vet - Nothing Detected?
As Karma says what do the Vets actually look for?

I for one thought that being a front runner that the Greyville track with the short run in would be right up his ally

I'm guessing the obvious

Seriously though, obvious injury, lameness on trot up, bleeding, excessive fatigue, pyrexia, cardiovascular abnormalities etc. Are probably something that they can pick up on with a clinical exam but they are not going to do a full work up including bloods, scope, ecg etc . Unless the horse looks in trouble. I'll bet many horses did not show anything when full of adrenaline after the race and we're obviously sore the next morning.
I do wish they would take bloods from fancied horses that don't perform not just for "substances" but for consistancy profiles.

THE STARTER REPORTED :
a) TROPHY WIFE (S Khumalo) difficult to load and was slow losing three lengths.
b) ROYAL BADGE (G van Niekerk) was difficult to load.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (TN) :
a) ELUSIVE SILVA (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Snaith advised. (RJ)
b) CROWD PLEASER (K de Melo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Janse van Vuuren advised. (DA)
c) ELUSIVE SILVA (R Fourie) was hanging in badly over the final 350 metres and shifted in, carrying BLACK ARTHUR (A Delpech) inwards between the 300 and 200 metre marks.
d) Jockey R Fourie the rider of ELUSIVE SILVA appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future.
e) In view of the performance of MASTER SWITCH (A Marcus) (5.60 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) In view of the Starter’s report concerning TROPHY WIFE (Trainer S Tarry) and in terms of Rule 93.2.4, this mare’s starting stall certificate is withdrawn until re-certified tractable with a companion.
So the stipes find poor Trophy Wife difficult and don't know why..... Perhaps they should ask the Vet
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
a) MASTER SWITCH : Nothing obvious detected.
b) TROPHY WIFE : In season.
Poor girl is getting on and was HORNY - Plain and simple
