KENILWORTH, 30/05

Race 6, I fancy the chances of Fire In The Belly. The one to beat must be Oh Behave, however I'm not convinced he is guaranteed to see out the 1600m. His two previous efforts over 1600m tend to suggest he may prefer 1400m, I may be horribly wrong.

I feel the two other horses in the betting, Streak Of Silver and Eighth Wonder, are not that superior to Fire In The Belly, to concede that much weight and beat him.

Fire In The Belly on the other hand has dropped 6 points in the ratings in two months, and that could see him be very competitive, or so I'm hoping.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

The long range forecast indicates that we might get some proper rain in 10 days time- in the meantime the course remains hard and fast.
Race 1: Elusive Heart is a nice filly, but will need this outing. If not too green could sneak a place. This is a very tricky race with many first timers and runners that should improve with a run under the belt. Sassy Lady and Evies Light have solid form. Love Dove and Tough Love ran promising debuts, and Data Link should also be respected.
Race 2: Small but open race. Vaughan Marshall's runners look the right two.
Race 3: Apollo Rock looks the right one, but again many unknown quantities. We have The Goon Show- very green on debut, and should improve quite a few lengths. Place chance, but will be better over further.
Race 4: Amazingly and Daring Miss should fight this out. Empire Rising is capable although off form recently. The two year old Heart of a Legend has a lot to do against the older fillie but could challenge.
Race 5: Dex Dexter was impressive on debut and is a pick 6 banker. The two Crawford runners are the dangers with Triple Explosion.
Race 6: Eighth Wonder makes most appeal in a very open race.
Race 7: The Right Road has scope for improvement and looks the right one here. We have Desert Wisdom running- he returns from gelding and should need this and is better over further.

Race 3 - Cape Xtreme ran in a fair field over 1000m on debut when finishing off the race quite nicely. Bound to improve for the run and the extra will suit.

Race 4 - Fair EW value on Empire Rising
Has shown that she can run, despite issues. Peak run now, suitable trip, Dillon booked, scope for improvement and fairly average competition in 2 average maidens and a 2 year old. 7's and evens top 3.

Elusive Heart won like an odds on shot at 33-1.Easy money for the trainers and owners if they knew how good the horse was.
