Not to sound salty but in essence a waterlogged pull up area on a polytrack is the reason for abandoning the meeting.

From GC
Following continued heavy rain and a protest by the jockeys that the pull-up area had become unsafe, the meeting at Greyville today (Sunday, May 14) was abandoned after the running of the second race.
Torrential rain and gale-force winds buffeted the course over the weekend with 52mm recorded before the start of the meeting. However, more heavy rain soaked the course before the start of the first race with another 20mm being recorded.
NHA Chief Stipendiary Steward, Shaun Parker, said, “The bottom line is that with all the rain, the pull-up area where the poly track meets the grass track had become saturated. The jockey’s protested that the area had become unsafe. An inspection panel, consisting of officials, jockeys and trainers, examined the area and in the interests of safety it was decided to abandon the meeting.”
Gold Circle Racing Executive, Raf Sheik, confirmed that because of the saturated pull-up area caused by the extreme weather conditions the meeting was abandoned in the interests of safety for jockeys and horses.

Nett pool R183 155
Tkts 70542.87
=R2.5963.
Rounded down as usual to the lower 10c dividend.
so R176 357 paid out.
A nice little R6797 'pocketed'
There is absolutely no reason in a time when fractions can be taken down to 100th's that rounding down should be happening.
As usual the punters get screwed.

Are the Stipes impartial? Never ever have I seen the Stipes. who are the voice of the horse, ask for a track inspection - Allways the Jocks... They show that they are in the pockets of the Operators by never taking action to protect horses and jockeys unless Jocks protest

Assuming a takeout of 25%,that extra money means the totes take has increased to 27,78%.
This is happening every race.
