The Cape Town 'Going'

Many of you may be aware that one of the reasons being advanced for the 'skimpy' Cape Town fields at present is the state of the 'going'; which is allegedly 'rock hard'.

I'm no turf specialist & I'm well aware that the area is in the grip of a severe drought but can this problem not be solved by watering the course?

I was under the impression that Kenilworth has its own water supply. Or not?

Just asking.

Maybe the training tracks are a problem ? Not able to gallop at Durbanville etc so babies not get grass galloped?
