SCOTIA ON THE LONG WEEKEND.
17 years 1 week ago
Good afternoon to the CLAN and looking forward to the long weekend and it includes Fathers Day, so everything points to happiness.
Will have a meeting with my financial advisor "easygoer" this evening to discuss confidential tactics for the weekend, with some nice Afrikaans music in the background.
Have a fair group going to the big T on Sunday, so hope we can catch a few winners? Will be a couple of first time racegoers at the tables, and I thought I would have an advanced look at the betting to try and give some advice, but after checking the opening betting percentages!!!! Race 2 is a classic, 8/10, 12/10 and 18/10, it comes in at 185%. so they might end up playing the slots!
Some good racing on Sat. at Clairwood and should give us a few pointers for the July.
We have plenty local experts on the site, so will leave the tips to the crack team.
I am looking forward to Royal Ascot next week, it starts on Tuesday, with the King Stand Stakes, where Fleeting Spirit is the one to beat, however the Aussie, Takeover Target will be sure to make a race of it, and don't forget the SA interest National Colour.
The Queen Anne is also on day one and as I suggested last week that Finsceal Beo was my early selection in a difficult race, note! it has been backed from 14/1 to 7/1.
The other big race on the Tuesday is the St James Palace where Henrythenavigator is money on fav, but I will give Twice Over another chance.
Day 2 the 18th has the Prince of Wales plus the Royal Hunt Cup, Duke of Marmalade looks hard to beat and the run by Finsceal Beo on the Tuesday can frank the form?
The Cup should be a "Bankable" race for the punters.
Day 3 is Gold Cup day and Yeats should lift the Cup and expect Coastal Path and Geordieland to follow the champ home.
The last day has the other big sprint, the Golden Jubilee where a couple of the runners from the King Stand Stakes usually come back for more and the game Takeover Target has to beat Sakhees Secret and US Ranger, but keep a watch for another SA star War Artist, who has made a good start on UK soil.
The golf is underway and Ernie is looking better, but don't ignore the Tiger after a slow start.
Some good games in the soccer and a first class performance from Croatia to beat the Germans, but still a wide open tournament.
Had a look at the betting for the Olympics and see the Chinks are favs over the Yanks to left more medals, normally expect the Yanks to clean up, it must be all these table tennis, gymnastics etc, that give them the edge?
On the rugby front, expect the Scots to stretch the Pumas, but get beat and the Aussies, All Blacks and SA a certain treble, but will check the spread betting via our sports expert Brent at sportingweb.
Well have a good weekend and hope all you Fathers get spoilt.
Good punting!

Well hope you Fathers are having a good day?
Has been a good weekend so far, Friday night was another eye opener, but some of theses Afrikaners look as hard as nails and I would not like to pick a fight with any of them, plus the men are also a bit scary!
Easygoer [in his capacity of financial advisor] informed me that to have a punt on Saturday would be dangerous, so we had no bets, apart from the lottery, which we also missed, but I did fancy Dancers Daughter.
We are all off to the track today and will be having a few punts and hope the seafood extravaganza lives up to expectations, must say the caterers have raised the game since they lost the contract for the RA/Elevation room, nothing like a bit competition.
Will have a double card with the Cape and the big T and the CLAN are looking to strike a bit GOLD today!
On the UK front racing from Doncaster, where Swop, Fareer and Factotum should go close, at Salisbury no bet and over the jumps we need McCoy to come back to form with a double, Noble Minstrel and Sendomi [ but it has the treble seeking Golan Way to beat].
Good punting!

Terrible looking card today, but yesterday was great apart from a couple of "ouch" results, namely Bella Jet.
The Furious room was a full house and a great buzz, but the Elevation was dead.
Well done to all the CLAN winners and was great to see Marlon and his tribe in the winners box after giving us a winner that looks like having a great future.
Carry over pick6 today, but not easy, but whatever you do try and have a winning day.
good punting!
