Last season, at 54 years of age, Lloyd won his first Brisbane jockeys’ premiership, the South African-born star chalking up 115 wins, 80 of those in town.
Incredibly, Lloyd has gone up a gear this campaign, the veteran hoop already miles ahead of last season’s numbers - and there’s still four-and-a-half months of 2016/17 remaining.
Prior to Wednesday’s Doomben meeting, he sits on 130 wins statewide and 99 in the city.

Hope he rides in the 2017 Durban July.

I so want him to win this race as I consider him one of the great jockeys of SA.
