"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Thursday 12th June Workings..
16 years 11 months ago
Afternoon,
This afternoon completed and went as follows..
The 1st runner we wanted 2.32 and with being around 2.36 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.32 max. The price then took a turn and drifted out to our own price of 2.625 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was easily beaten and so a good result..
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.0 and with being around 2.76 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.76 max. The price then took a turn and drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so another chance for layers and traders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result....
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.32 and with being around 2.18 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.18 max. There was then a withdrawal and 3.1% reduction, but we easily got the price to make the full lay back up. The lay went and won without any fuss and made layers look a bit silly, so the way it goes..
The 4th runner we wanted 2.5 and with being around 3.1 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner came in 2nd and so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.....
The 5th runner we wanted 1.7 and with being a very well supported 1.58 on arrival we had a lay at 1.58. The lay went and won and so the support justified and the way it goes....
The 6th runner we wanted 2.7 and with drifting to around 3.05 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner went and won and so a good leave........
The 7th runner we wanted 2.6 and with drifting to around 3.1 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave...
The 8th runner we wanted 3.3 and with being around 3.15 on arrival, we had a lay at 3.15. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 before coming back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won and so the way it goes, but glad of the 'free' lay now.......
The 9th runner we wanted 3.2 and with drifting to around 3.35 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though........
The 10th runner we wanted 2.32 and with drifting to around 2.38 on arrival and then dropping back down to us we had a lay at 2.32 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.625 and beyond, so another chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. There was a late withdrawal and a 3.3% reduction, but it made no difference to us. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result...
The 11th and final runner we wanted 3.1, but with being a big drifter out to around 5.6 on arrival and not coming back down anywhere near our lay price, we had to avoid the race. The runner went and won and so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave..........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...........(5 from the first 8 (62.5%) went and won - and 6 from the 11 (54.5%) in total and and so mix that with plenty of drifters and we did well to be honest)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Had to concede 0.5 of a target.........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner).......They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 3rd runner and after a battle they ended up 1.5 targets down after their 4th lay (the 10th runner) and so they concede 0.5 targets on the session...
'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit......They then had another 'free' lay (the 2nd runner) that bought another tiny profit......They then had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.18 max, but a poor result see them go behind on the session......They then had their 2nd lay (the 5th runner) at 1.58, but another poor result see them go a bit further behind......Then yet another 'Free' lay (the 8th runner) that only bought relief......That's where they ended the session and so they concede between 1 and 1.1 targets...

Traders had to concede a little on the 3rd runner at 2.18 max and the 5th runner at 1.86 max, but al others see them win a bit or break level, so they end around levels or down a shade...
So those drifters that we feared came true and the unexposed nature made it so tough for us. We kept digging away though and with so many winners we did a good job to be honest with weaving our way through. Builders were stopped by free lays this afternoon, so could've been better, but could've also been much worse! We'll take it and look ahead to this evening..
Marc.

Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
