Last Outlaw is Strydom's top bet on the day. Looking at last run, he might be onto something.

What else does Striker like? IMO Patchouli Queen will be lucky to run a place

Frodo wrote: For those chasing the value ..... in race 7, imo Silver Class is a big runner at these weights - just look at the collateral form - to be followed in the Fillies Guineas by Pool Party, last time ran on best of all from a wide draw - took the double at an unbelievable 1200/1

Silver Class wont even place let alone win!!! Fro do...you gotta go to 'Tahiti' instead. As for the PARTY...I also liked her a lot at 1st glance...but I think she will leave us sad, instead of SMILING upon the ISLAND!!!!

I'm not sayin SC is a sure thing - but no way should it 40/1 - look at the form of the race over 1600 at this track in the soft (Summer Cup Day 26 Nov) - no way Tahini (I suppose that's what you mean by Tahiti   ) can finish in front of Silver Class; against SC of course is that the 1600 is not her best distance - but again the 13/2 for a place looks very nice ....

Some more thoughts on a day where there seems to be quite a few runners priced up at tempting odds .... and the results this past week reflect it is quite likely not going to be plain sailing .... all the rain having interrupted preps etc

Not venturing any guesses in the first two races, although judging by breeding, price tag and betting support, Wondrous Climber looks the right one in the 2nd, especially seeing that I don't think the Great Britain will be as effective over the 1400

R3: Juvenile fillies going 1400 - so some guessing involved here - none of the first timers finding support( Boomerang Beach may be the exception - must have been cripple at the sales to fetch only 20k  ) so probably lies between the top 3 on the boards - my preference over the 1400 would be Star Profile

R4: Weak maiden - so first timers do not have to be world beaters ..... for the P6 I'd go 1,2 and 4 - surely one of those will be the first raced horse home....

R5: Bar Patchouli Queen and maybe Claremorris, the raced runners again look very moderate, so the supported first timer Sylvan Fire must be included in BP, JP and PA - for the P6 I think PQ probably a banker - Claremorris the only danger

R6: Interesting - before the USO show this morning I would have made New Predator hard to beat - thinking he would be improving on his last run - however apparently all not well in the stable and may be needing a gallop after all the rain.... now this becomes very open - Kangaroo Jack imo not as effective at this track and also has slightly wide draw - I'm going wide and will also include Talktothestars who I got the impression was given a sprint-up on Tuesday night in preparation for a rare try at an extended sprint .... and also on the run behind Trip to Heaven on Summer Cup day, he holds KJ

R7: Acasia HANDICAP - theoretically should bring them close together - Shaama does appear a worthy favorite - should hold those she met last time when running a shd behind Kilauea; Off the Mark drawn wide, but not much between her and Shaama on a run over 1200 at the Vaal - and also not a lot between OtM and Sensible Lover on a previous meeting; of course Silver Class well beaten on the run behind Kilauea, but she should actually hold SL on the run behind Intergalactic on Summer Cup Day

R8: The Fillies Guineas ... Orchid Island very impressive last time over 1800 and would have won even if the race was over 1600 imo - another worthy favorite, as the main dangers according to the betting, both have to overcome some challenges .... Safe Harbour said to perhaps need the run, while Ektifaa has a wide draw and could perhaps not be as effective over the 1600 ....Smiling Blue Eyes hold a lot of these on her last good effort, but of course is drawn in the soccer stadium and would be interested to know if Kumalo had the choice - if so, Redberry Lane could be a worthy inclusion; I have already mentioned that I fancy Pool Party as a roughie and if you fancy her, then even Santiburi can upset ... so either bank OI, or go wide

R9: Guineas .... again some guesswork involved ..... Heavenly Blue must have chance, but could just be needing further by now; Al Sahem has a big reputation, but has suffered an interrupted prep - Delpech rides for the Sheik, so don't think Khumalo had the choice to ride AS .... what would be nice to know is if he had the choice between Furiosa and Matador Man - for me on exposed form, Matador Man the better runner - but who knows .....Unagi has never run in the soft and looks better on the inside track, while both Doosra and Chili Con Carne seems better over 1400 - I think it could prove wise to include a few in the closing leg of the P6....

R10: Real tough handicap, but Save the Rhino may have now found his best form again and also likes the softer conditions - 6/1 not bad imo - would be my first choice, but most of the others hold some sort of chance

R11: Fillies and mares handicap - Wind Chill is fancied and looks to have a lot going for her - I think Oriental Oak and Inga (go Elvis B)) could prove the main dangers as both Onesie and especially Readyforyourlove have been rated on KZN form, which imo is not the greatest ....

R12: Last Outlaw will not have any excuses today, has probably earned his rating, but imo will be pushed at the weights by the yr older Skynight

Enjoy B)

Bob, hoping we reach race 11 today. Hoping for a big run from Inga, think she is looking for this trip. She was only touched off in Durban over 1900 m. I think the jock left his run a tad too late in that Durban run.
