Turffontein Saturday 11/2/17

Some nice little features tomorrow. Will also tell us more about the 3yo's going into the classic season and whether any of the bunch out on show tomorrow will be key players.
Nothing I'm strong on from my side but I'll be having bets for interest-sake on the following.
Race 6 - Rafeef 7/2
Really talented horse this. Very progressive and he should enjoy the step up in trip here. A concern is the inside course and how he'll take to it but if he does, he should be right there at the finish. He's got a nice turn of foot to go with. Romany Prince does look tough to beat with the form he's in but I always like to stick with horses who win for me.
Race 7 - Matador Man 5/1
Opened up at 5/1 and now been backed down to favourite. Looks to be coming on the right way and again should be fighting out the finish. Again, with the inside track you've got to be cautious and we'll see how he takes to it. Beaten by both Doosra and Al Fahad in the maidens but looks the sort that has now come into his own.
Race 8 - Anna Pavlova 10/1
Really liked her last win from a bad draw, although it was against weak opposition. At 10/1 definitely worth a go for another progressive sort. Obviously Maleficent looks slung in if at her best and Babbling Brooke's another smart sort you've got to factor in.
A lot of guess work at this stage, especially on the 3yo's and the inside track usually throws another spanner in the works.

Agree the first two must have chances - to play Devil's Advocate, the de Kock stable not in the greatest of form; Matador Man beaten in the maidens at same weights terms by Al Fahad, but imo has improved after gelding and I think he will take a lot of beating - can't have Anna Pavlova at these weights in a race where imo Visuality could easily put her disappointing visit to the Cape behind her

R3, Inaninstant (4/1), must be a runner with the apprentice claim of 4.0kgs. Whilst she has been beaten twice by Girl On The Run (15/10), you can put a line through the second meeting, however on their previous meeting there is an 8.0kg swing for a 3.50 length beating. It's not like there is this huge gap in their merit ratings where Inaninstant would require this sort of weight advantage to have a slim chance of beating the favourite, they are both 4 time winners and a point apart in the ratings.
The other thing, Girl On The Run may be using this as a stepping stone to bigger races in the coming season, she may need the run, not saying she can't win, just don't believe they will cut her in half to win this.

For a small fee most things are possible.

I'm not tipping Fafi, I'm giving my opinion for whatever it's worth. Maybe i mis-understood your initial post, for which i will apologise in advance. Are you referring to changing my non de plume, Bayern, to my name, i don't have an issue doing this, if this is what is required.
My name is Roderick (Rod).

Can I give my 5cents here.....Fafi if I take the amount of thank you's on your posts and the amount of thank you's of Bayern.....
Fafi you have a strike rate of almost 10%
Bayern you have a strike of almost 11%
Much of a muchness in whether you call them opinions....tips or guessing
In my view both of you know your horses and for new comers like me I will take any opinions....tips or guessing at this stage as the Computaform is difficult to read and one does not always know what to look for
