18 years today since I had my last cigarette. I feel that I am entitled to say well done to myself

Congrats cnc......i dont smoke but my wife does. I have tried everything from bubblegum, patch, xyban, that 3 or 4 sprays where the dosage decreases, the e-cig etc......she just goes straight back to the cigs. I wish i could change it but i have come to the conclusion that if she doesmt want to quit then its not going to happen! Well done again....great achievememt

Peekay take your wife to your local cancer unit and she will see what smoking does to people. Won't take long for her to stop.I had a friend who smoked 30 a day. Took him to the Royal Marsden for his chemo and all the smokers awaiting their turn were sat outside have a fag with their oxygen tanks. He sadly passed away which was more than enough reason for me to stop.

Speak to her about people who have had a lung transplant, and let her speak to the people themselves. I Am referring to smokers of course as many others have had lung transplants for many other reasons.

I have visited people in hospital that are on oxygen and gasping for breath, waiting to see if they are lucky enough to receive new lungs!. Not a pretty sight.
Please get her to stop smoking before its too late. She is welcome to speak to me ( although my transplant was not lungs), but do know quite a bit about it.

This is meant with all good wishes and I do understand that nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs known to man.

PK I know its very hard for you but please keep on trying.........

Had bronchitis 3 weeks ago went to doctor gave me injections and cough mixtures but the cough won't go away,now trying a old people's home remedy,was thinking maybe it's best to go back to the cigarettes then
