Last Man Standing Competition Winner
8 years 4 months ago
Well done BOB on winning the inaugural LMS competition. I am not sure if it added any value and if their would be more participants interested in future.
Bob has kindly donated the money in the following way... R750 towards another competition and R500 to the Karoo Donkey Sanctuary.
With his and Dave's blessing I would like to change things a bit. We are visiting the sanctuary on 24 February and I would really like to hand over a decent sum of money towards their cause on behalf of the Clanners. To this end I would like to do some fundraising here on ABC but in hopefully a fun way.
A Clanner (who is way too seldom on the forum these days) has kindly donated some really good articles for prizes or auction or out right purchase, I have yet to work out all the details. I have also received PM's from other Clan members who wish to donate.
I will try and get something on here by Thursday evening but now I better go pay the competition winners.

Well done Bob on donating part of your winnings to the Donkey Sanctuary and to Magi for highlighting the sanctuary and the plight of the donkeys and for your time in helping them.

Thanks for running the competitions, and well done to the winners.
At the risk of adding to the admin burden, a suggestion: Instead of an each way bet on a single horse in each race, how about allowing separate choices for win and place? In my betting, I will very seldom put an ew on any horse trading at less than 4/1. In addition, I often like a long priced horse for a place, but don't like it's value for a win.

Thanks for the suggestion. If the entrants would be disciplined enough to CLEARLY specify their preference I cannot see why that could not be an option!!... We can try that out in our next competition with the DEFAULT being each way, unless clearly specified WIN ONLY or PLACE ONLY
