Gold Circle Top Brass - Already Sold...?

The vibes are that Phumelela are holding much influence over the GC decision makers, impression is that the top dogs will be happy to fall under the Phumelela umbrella.

Much will rest on the GC members in the not to distant future.

Hostile takeover! I see that they are moving P top brass in all over the place. Trojan horse 1 Hawkins Trojan horse 2 moved to kennilworth from PE.

Well spotted,Alcaponee.
Expect vote soon, especially now that the new, expensive 'super membership' has been introduced.
The elitist noose is tightening.

Shot Alcaponee, I live just off the N2 en route PE - CPT, local rumour has it Trojan Horse 2 trundled past under the cover of darkness for an apparant triumphant homecoming.

Should the final corner piece of the "P" jigsaw be slotted into place, it will be most interesting to see what positions former employees who "moved" to GC take up.

I am probably going to take a beating from some quarters for what I have to say next:

P definitely looks like a slicker operation on the surface. One has just have to look at a simple thing like the 2 websites. If I was a person who stumbled on the 2 and had to compare I would think that Saftote is a corporate and Tabgold is a sportsclub.

No offence to anyone but there may be a bit of old boys club going on behind the scenes. I will leave you to decide on which company I am reffering to.

Unfortunately neither of the 2 are very good at TV production. I wish Super Sport would take control and give us some slicker graphics, better sound, less anoying background music and better overall production. Grant knowles looked like a ghost the other night. Too much on the spots and the sound was crap too. The sound has been crap on a number of occassions to be honest. I am not proclaiming to be a master of TV production. In fact I know nothing at all about it but I recognise what is appealing and what is crap.

I understand that there are people out there working hard daily on production and I respect that but we need to take this horseracing thing that we love so much to another level. Please have a look at the production on Dubai world cup night. Absolutely brilliant. If we were half way there we would be 100 times better than where we are now.

I enjoyed the Jet Master feature and the Dubai world cup feature. production was professional on both. Too often we are subjected to distorting microphones and unfortunately it seems to be In GC land. P sabotage perhaps, who knows.

Racing is a closed shop. Jobs go to friends and family, managements' standards are weak, and paying peanuts grooms monkeys. Tellytrack is not operated by broadcast industry professionals, but by racing sideliners and throwbacks that wouldn't stand a hope in hell of cutting it in mainstream TV.

A bit less initial profit taking and bit more reinvestment in the right places will yield even bigger profits. Penny wise pound foolish

It will not be the first time that the clowns McElligot and Niarac get shit on their faces. We have a saying here in Durban.....Welcome to Durban, now F/Off. So to Phumelela we say.....Welcome to Durban, now F/Off.
