Did not watch the Charity mile day races.
Watched the main race only thanks to Bob
Anyway what do u guys think?
Any serious summer cup contenders?
Did most of the guns use the race as a prep?
Mac de lago?saratoga? Ten gun salute?
Deo juvente?
Some input would be appreciated?
From what i saw in the main race, deo juvente will run a cracker for summer cup

Horses that impressed me were Deo juvente..looked a very good prep.
She's a giver.
Heavenly Blue looks the real deal for the classics
Bull Valley if he stays around 106 MR mark should be a good merchants contender

New predator as usual good performance but seems best around the distance and not convinced he can beat Legal Eagle at his best nor maybe Kangaroo Jack.
Africa rising was a bit dissapointing but still think he is a very good horse capable of improving. likewise Doosra did nothing wrong but just seemed like he would battle to repeat the win over Heavenly Blue.
Lots of horses worth watching.

Africa rising got an awful ride and made up many lengths in the last few hundred metres
Heavenly blue will beat doosra next time out
No idea on fitness of horses in the charity mile so not drawing too many conclusions
Bull Valley was impressive

Will be interesting to see what the handicapper makes of the various races - Graham Beck compared to the Ready to Run and Starling Stakes - even looking at the Charity Turf seems to indicate (if Irish Pride ran to his rating) that the first 3 ran around 10 points above their ratings

Also Janoobi ran above his rating imo - would like to know what the reasoning was for running him in a handicap and not in the Graham Beck

there were a few scratchings from the summer cup including that of abishiri new predator im surprized it hasnt been mentioned anywhere or have i missed it?tarry seems to be taking a soft route to the race with samurai blade who runs in a 6 horse field on thurs nite with half the fields being tarrys..must be looking after his rating

I think I read earlier that New Predator was not going to run in the Summer Cup, so no surprise there, but was not aware of Abashiri being a non-runner - must say for me it makes sense as he is too high in the ratings imo so a handicap not ideal for him (should never have tried the July imo for the same reason) - rather go for a conditions race like the Met.

Samurai Blade's prep is also a bit of a gamble imo - last log I saw he was not in the top 20 -or am I wrong ?
