A couple nice sorts on show imo. One that could be worth watching for the future is Legislate's half brother GREENFLASHSUNSET who makes its 1st appearance.

One of my horses to follow for the season is out tomorrow. That's Our Mate Art. He's really rated by the bass stable and had an excellent 2yo season that led to him just being pipped by Table Bay in the Langerman. I'm a bit surprised that he's been thrown into a 1200m - this is too short for him and for me, he'll be taking his place in the Cape Guineas in December so purely a warm up run.

That said, the turn will help and he is classy enough to win. Very excited to see him run and I'm nibbling at 2/1.

Race 2, definitely the race to watch. I'm rowing in with Sergeant Hardy (59.5kgs) being a three time winner as oppose to two time winner Attenborough (58.0kgs) and even worse off, one time winner, Our Mate Art (58.0kgs).

Fancy the Snaith/Fourie 1st double.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Is Elevated not a bit big at 2/1 in the 7th? Run to some decent sorts.

Captains Version r1

Race 2 the one of interest. On paper nothing between the four 3yo at the weights so may depend on how race is run and fitness. I'm a big fan of the 3 nursery runners but if a good enough price about Rock of Africa may be worth a go at the weights.

Also looking forward to Elevated trying ground R 7. He has run good seconds to good horses running on strongly way too late after seemingly battling to stay up with early pace.

Race 8 whispering light for me.

Race1: Overdrive flopped when fancied last time, but looks a likely winner here. Purple Rock looks next best of the raced runners, and Captain's Version could challenge. We have Elusive Singer running. He choked up in running last time when failing to improve on a promising debut. If the tongue tie does the trick then he has a money chance.
Race 2: Some top 3yos make their seasonal debuts. We can expect to see a few of these in the upcoming features, but it's hard to know which will be fittest here. Rock of Africa gets weight from all and is racing fit, so he is my selection. Our Mate Art and Attenborough are talented, but may be looking for further now. Sergeant Hardy has top sprint form and should be respected. A tricky but fascinating race, and any of the hard knocking older horses could pop up.
Race 3:Variational and Rebel Alliance should fight this out unless there is a market springer.

Race 4: Cavalleria looks the right one here. There is not much between Kate Dubois, Empire Rising and Elusive Touch for the places. We have Bon Bon making her debut. She has shown some fair work but will need the experience.
Race 5: Miss Hyde must have a fair chance here.
Race 6: no selection
Race 7: Elevated is a banker- has plenty scope for improvement.
Race 8: Whispering Light has the form to win this but there are quite a few others with chances. We have Red Berry Candle running but has it all to do from the widest draw and a place chance at best.
