Was a good run from Scottish after a shocker at the start
Winner could be worth watching in the big one

The $6.2 million Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m) will be run at Flemington on Tuesday and here is what the key players are saying about their respective horses.
Hartnell
“It is not a disaster and doesn’t change much for him. Most of the speed is drawn to his outside, so we should be able to get in and hopefully get some luck,” trainer John O’Shea told Fairfax New Zealand.
Jameka
“She’s in super order and hopefully she shows the same turn of foot that she’s shown in the Caulfield Cup,” trainer Ciaron Maher told the ABC.
“We hoped like hell to draw between two and 12, we didn’t want one, we got three and we’re just rapt,” part-owner Col McKenna told Fairfax Media.
Oceanographer
“I’m delighted we’ve got a decent draw now but whatever happens will be a bonus now. It’s been an enjoyable experience for the team and hopefully we can enjoy it a bit more,” trainer Charlie Appleby told the Racing Post.
Bondi Beach
“He’s certainly strengthened up this year, he looks a much more furnished commodity. I’d be staggered if he didn’t run well,” part-owner Nick Williams told Racing.com.
Heartbreak City
“Deep down, I think my horse will give a really good account of himself. I’d be disappointed if he doesn’t give a really good show,” trainer Tony Martin told Racing.com.
Big Orange
“He ran a great race last year and he was only a boy last year and he’s now developed into a man. He’s got a significantly better draw so we just hope it doesn’t rain and we’re very confident of a good run,” trainer Michael Bell told the Racing Post.
Almandin
“Almandin’s really come on from that run in The Bart Cummings. He did his final gallop this morning, and he was really in the zone,” part-owner Nick Williams told Racing.com.
Wicklow Brave
“Even though it doesn’t look the best draw he might like to be on his own with a bit of daylight. He won the (Irish St) Leger from the front and when he won the County Hurdle he was wide the whole way,” trainer Willie Mullins told the Racing Post.
Qewy
“I’m very surprised because I thought Qewy did as good a performance at Geelong (as Oceanographer) and he’s had a nice break and looked great this morning; he’s very well-priced,” trainer Charlie Appleby told the ABC.
Curren Mirotic
“The Melbourne Cup has been run at a slow tempo these days, a sit and sprint sort of race. We will try and put the tempo up in the race and make it a true staying test so he can show his true ability,” trainer Osamu Hirata told AAP via jockey Kosuke Kawakami who translated.
Grey Lion
“To go so close to winning the Geelong Cup was exciting but then I realised I had a Melbourne Cup runner and I had to pinch myself. Dad (Luca Cumani) has been out here and gone so close, and I know how tough it is just to get there,” trainer Matt Cumani told Fairfax Media.
Our Ivanhowe
“We’ll probably be a bit more aggressive on him from a good draw on Tuesday. You have to make use of those sort of horses, and trust they’ll finish off anyway. I think this horse doesn’t need to be right on top of the pace, but he needs to be first half of the field,” co-trainer Lee Freedman told Racing.com.

Big orange might have too much weight.
Could place at best.
Almandin been of for a while
Beat protectionist,2014 winner if im correct
Been of for a while but is in a good place right now
Having won last 2! Should be bang in there at the finish!
