SCOTIA AFTER THE WEEKEND.

Good morning to the CLAN and scotia had a pleasant and reasonably profitable weekend.

I just want to state that I have had email problems on my Bcc circulation list, and glad to hear yesterday that the guys are missing my emails, but please remember just to visit the site directly if you don't receive an email.

Well another weekend has come and gone and received a call on Saturday morning from a bookie friend to say that Hendrik Prinsloo passed away at 7.10 on Sat morning, many of the posters will remember Hendrik as he must have been a bookie for over 30 yrs in Pretoria, strength to family and friends.

On the subject of bookies, you may remember the Eerensteins, of Divine Act, Winter Chord fame, well Uncle Dave had to say farewell to Johan as he sets off on his 2 month trip into Africa, both dad and uncle rather concerned, but should be fun to follow his progress with his mate Rhett, www.offexploring.com/njovueastafrica

Was at the big T yesterday and must say was not disappointed with the German cuisine, so will be back next week for a taste of the spaghettis.must say the Furious was very pleasant and nice to go on the balcony to watch the canter past.

I had mentioned on the site with regards the Racing International channel, so if you are at the track, you basically have 3 racing channels, the full on line track coverage, the International Channel and the very congested Tellytrack showing Ngong and blind French racing with no fixed odds displayed, so I suppose if we are going to be adamant on one channel at home, its a good enough reason to get people to the track?

I am sure enough has been said with regards JJ, but would just also add great stuff and a movie sounds a great idea, especially if the plan is to have a go at Sacred Kingdom and Takeover Target etc, we look forward to your suggestions for actors/look-alikes to take the parts, please post on the site for a bit fun.

Its hard to say if Striker had a brilliant ride, or if JJ is just superb, in fact we are always discussing "ride of the month", but we can also consider "poor ride of the month" and imo I felt sorry for the connections of Jewelius Ceasour for the ride by Danielson, and a bit sorry for Bella Jet, but we can get our money back next time out?

On the subject of flying machines, well done to Usain Bolt, for breaking the world record.

Racing is at the VAAL today, plus Carlisle and Leicester in addition night meeting at Thirsk and Windsor, not sure why tellytrack does not just keep running? Sad to hear that a few UK bookies have stopped taking bets on SA racing, due to a chance in broadcasting rights? maybe someone can help with a bit transparency on this subject?

Next weekend has the Oaks and Derby from the UK and a very difficult call, so I will stick with my bet on Getaway for the Coronation Cup and possibly Lush Lashes for the Oaks and have a choice of 4 for the Derby, Casual Conquest, Curtain Call, Tajaaweed or Tartan Bearer?

Hope you all have a good week.

Good punting and may your God be with you.

Hello Scotia..New Approach is now a runner in the Derby. I think that the winner will come from one of your 4 selections stated above.

Afternoon mori, yes I see that Jim Bolger has it running after saying that "it would not run"? well I suppose the chaps that took 3/1 will be pleased its running and the chaps that backed and layed at 200/1 must have mixed feelings?

Had no facility for a double, just took individual bets, but 7/4 and 12/10, will do me for the day, the luck of the Irish, better than the French tote only that they are showing on the box.

Next sat oscar and the oaks is on Friday, in addition we have the Daily News and the Woolavington on the local scene, and try and get betting? They have been betting on the UK races for a year, including locally bookies, but don't try and get any quotes on the local races before race time.
