MDK form since splitting with Delpech
9 years 1 month ago
working from 8 feb 2016 onwards
21 winners from 144 runners
22 seconds
18 thirds
10 forths
16 fifths
now lets compare Kannemeyer yard for same period.
27 winners from 123 runners
22 seconds
10 thirds
14 forths
15 fifths
in my opinion the jockey situation at MDK is not great since Delpech left and until he has a descent stable jock his yard will continue to under perform.

As said some weeks ago, MDK can only be in one place at a time, so the stables have become almost like franchises, with the big guy effectively being a consultant.
It has taken on corporate like structures and we know what that means in racing terms!
Add to that, the lack of stable riders, and the results will start to reflect that!
Recent arrangements look like Mawing may be getting the top rides ....going full circle!!!!

Nathan has always the guy in Kzn and if the figures are down I doubt any here has put their finger on it

was asked to post on behalf of an owner who has had tremendous success with mdk but wishes to remain anon and he would like to know if mdk has only been running his business in the last 12 months as a franchise or has it been more like a decade and a half ?he went through some of the group one wins plus trainers titles mdk has won since he started the overseas story and not being here ...the list is to long to write considering he has won over 100 group ones in his career..

i am just quoting results and MDK results are not great since the split.
i don't doubt he is a great trainer and manager of people but as a top yard u expect more from them than current.

For a decade it was pretty much limited to the Dubai carnival, during which there was still the benefit of feedback from top local riders, riding work and in races ...............I'm sure I read somewhere that there are now also permanent stables at Newmarket,UK, so maybe spreading himself thinner, whilst without a stable jockey, may have contributed to the stable falling someway behind Tarry right now(If results are the measure)
I am sure they will bounce back though, because there is no doubting the Big guys genius.
I think they will have a good winter season with MdK more in the saddle.

Had a good laugh, thank you Huchergh
Mike de Kock is a legend and has been round the block plenty times, he will bounce back.
Sean Tarry for me is the new MDK from 20 years ago, smashing everything out of his way.
He his honest in his feedback, his current warning to everyone on Legal Eagle a typical example. Has a champion stable jockey and very good owners and currently firing on all cylinders.
Wishing him all the best for Natal winter campaign.

Sly's topic and post is on point. Nothing biting anything.
The stable WAS very good and actually firing. NOW absolutely flat.
