Tellytrack Streaming - Please Answer
9 years 1 month ago
Dear Tellytrack team,
Please advise why we do not get the option to stream the actual tellytrack channel with all international meetings on offer, with presenters like Shane Shaw et al.
We are paying for this, and since the options have seemingly been extended to have the "Clean SA Stream", why are you beating around the bush and not offering us the stream of the main channel, for those interested.
Thanks

.....thought that fatboy slim had this sorted.....now a paid service with crap delivery....yesterday TT was a circus.....did not take the new broom long to fall in with the old crowd.....must have something to do with being a board member on the RA where many have picked up that take it or leave it attitude..... :S

.....thanx Bob....
......On the subject of TT.....I really feel for poor Ali Cohen and what he had to endure yesterday with the plethora of technical issues....he was clearly frustrated as was, I and may have affected other viewers/punters too....sad to see racing fall apart when things stop working
.....is charging for the streaming service really the answer to bring in coin to try upgrade equipment and so forth....I think not.....the operators should be taxed to give revenue to the broadcaster.....not try and tax the punter whose money is already propping up racing through the betting pools..... so that the operators can take their rather heavy cut.... :S

.....had a rather candid chat with the man.....many misconceptions about the TT streaming finally answered....and technical issues of this week end were beyond TT control......I think TT may be able to move forward.....after having to take a few steps backwards....

Because now they charging a fee to get live stream, can a person lodge a complaint with ICASA ? Do they have the authority to broadcast a live stream on the net ?
Subscription broadcasting services
Prior to the invitation to apply for Subscription broadcasting services that ICASA issued on 31 January 2006 the subscription broadcasting landscape in South Africa comprised a wide spectrum of players operating on permission to continue. These included the only licensed terrestrial subscription service, M-Net as well as the various subscription television and audio services, delivered mainly via satellite.
The subscription broadcasting services policy framework adopted the principles of the Triple Inquiry report, by distinguishing between services utilising terrestrial frequencies and non-terrestrial subscription broadcasters. This was consolidated in the position paper on subscription broadcasting services published on 1 June 2005. The position paper outlined approaches to multichannel services, authorisation of channels, application of South African Content requirements, ownership and control structures, licence application procedures and fees.
Subsequent to issuing the position paper, the Authoirty issued an invitation to apply for satellite and cable subscription broadcsting serivces on 31 January 2006. Out of the 18 applictions received 5 were successful, namely; ESAT, Multichoice, On Digital Media, Telkom Media and Walking on Water.
