On -line bookmakers !

This is a general gripe about on-line bookmakers that cut your 'allowed to win' limit as soon as you have a winning streak or back a horse that shortens dramatically. I find it sickening how they can unilaterally 'anti-select', thereby weeding out the decent punters and keeping the mugs. I recently had a case with WSB where they suspended my account, 'pending an investigation into my account' after I lodged a formal complaint against them with the WCGRB for canceling a bet due to the change of surface, but many hours after the change had been announced ! They then offered me half of the original odds because the price had shortened. These practices are really unsavoury - it seems they hide behind the anonymity of the internet and do exactly what suits them...

All bookmakers will refund your stakes on with a venue change, read your terms and conditions/ rules

The tote should do it as well

These rules are well known, and it's a safe fall for both clients and bookies imo



Stiff when your early price has collapsed though and scratchngs etc reduce your new odds

Great theory ,but bullshit in practice!!!!!!!!!!! ......................the other day I placed bets the night before ,in the morning the surface was changed but 10 mins before the race(but many hours after the announced surface change) ,the bets showed as "pending"..................WTF!!!!!!
In one case it was an "all in bet" so I couldn't retake the bet unless they cancelled and refunded the "cancelled" one.
I had to phone both and the one bookmaker cancelled so I could retake .............the other,by mutual agreement, let it stand ..........................management of the basics is sadly lacking in this business.
(another example was taking a bet an hour after an official scratching ,but still having to endure the deduction..................because that website isn't managed on a time basis ,which is obviously necessary for scratchings)

Happened to me the other day, took 6 horse place all to come, the last 4 were scratched because they moved from the turf to the poly. The first two in the bet arrived, but I had to wait until after the last race to be paid out. I was told there is nothing they can do until the last leg was run.

Wonder when they will run out of excuses to settle bets.
In another instance their system was down for the whole day and they couldn't change the odds - complaint still languishing at the GGB

I have had over 4 winning bets over the space of 3 weeks that were declared as losing bets. I was surprised because I watched these horses winning. After double checking the results on tabgold, I then called the customer service team only to get treated poorly by an employee. This was almost 10k in winnings. I'm really cross that I did not adopt the habit of checking results on all my bets previously.
