Just back from from a short holiday.
I was told today that there was some ugly scenes at Scottsville on Sunday. The jockey on Dynamic (Bernard I think) was chased by some irate punters after his antics on Dynamic.

One particular punter had a 10k wager on Dynamic (on course), I am told

So Magi...your story seems to be an accurate description of the jockeys riding of Dynamic.

did not see the race. What exactly happen? Was it the jocks error?

Are the jocks not protected by security in these cases?

My view. Faydherbe, is throwing the kitchen sink on Dynamic, horse is not finding, it had enough. Camera angle is deceptive, Faydherbe stops riding after Solid Speed passes it, if it where a true angle. See the head on after the 50m mark Faydherbe puts his hands down, horse already beat. Official winning distance half a length.

There are rules for good reasons, his actions in the last 50m by not riding the horse out deserves a fine & holiday. If not then take the rule away or jockey's make up their own rules as they go.....

From the Stipes report, an inquiry will be held to his ride however I will be more alarmed at,

Jockey B Fayd’Herbe the rider of DYNAMIC weighed out at 59.4kg and was declared out at 0.5kg over the carded weight of 58.5kg.

and that what cost him the race....

THE STARTER REPORTED :
ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR (AUS) (W Kennedy) was difficult to load.
CAPTAIN CHAOS (K de Melo), D YNAMIC (B Fayd’Herbe) and BIG CAT (C Orffer) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) :
SOLID SPEED (A Delpech), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Badenhorst acting for Trainer D Kannemeyer advised. (RJ)
DYNAMIC (B Fayd’Herbe), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Snaith advised. (SA)
TEN GUN SALUTE (AUS) (B Lerena) jumped inwards at the start resulting in HELDERBERG BLUE (G van Niekerk), THREE BALLOONS (M Byleveld) and SOLID SPEED (A Delpech) becoming cramped and being squeezed out losing position.
Jockey W Kennedy the rider of ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR (AUS) (33.25 lengths) reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
In view of the performance of BUCK SHOT (M Ntuli) (10.50 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
In view of the Starter’s report concerning ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR (AUS) (Trainer K Naidoo) and in terms of Rule 93.2.4, this gelding’s starting stall certificate is withdrawn until re-passed tractable with a companion on a race day. (PH)
Jockey B Fayd’Herbe is to appear before the Board regarding his riding of DYNAMIC in the closing stages of this Race.

JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
Jockey W Kennedy replaced Jockey I Sturgeon on ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR (AUS) (declared 10 April 2016 / 10:12).
Jockey B Fayd’Herbe the rider of DYNAMIC weighed out at 59.4kg and was declared out at 0.5kg over the carded weight of 58.5kg.

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :
Nil.

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
ROYAL ZULU WARRIOR (AUS) : Fatigued.
BUCK SHOT : Nothing obvious detected.

Thanks for the info and video Naresh.

Agree TS

after having watched the replay. I agree with Naresh view of the race and would have the same feeling if I had my Tom on the horse.

Of course the weight over issue is now an other can of worm.

Dean, i tend to agree with Naresh but there are specific rules, i.e. ride the horse to the line. I didn't punt the horse but the the guys who did must be pissed and there should have been an enquiry announced immediately but not even mentioned in the Stipes report is a shocker.

The Stipes making no mention of this is what is worrying and every jockey's lawyer should make a copy of the race as an example of no action taken when putting your hands down on a ride. Pierre should have his fine reversed.....

I am not even going to comment on the kilo over...... this shit is killing the poor punters. The horse should have been declared a non-runner when the jockey weighed in.

I'm sorry ,but I maintain that our regulators are just not qualified ..................in the same race they ask for a vet examination due to the poor run of Buck Shot...............who was so far out at the weights,10,5 lgths was not a bad run at all (actually ran at least 6 lgths BETTER than its rating)............and yet no action taken when horses suddenly improve 15Kg to win .............................................clueless!!!!!!
