After the unraced horse debacle on Saturday ,the exotics are full of unraced horses again ...............sans trials or work details!
Pity punters are addicts ,as a boycott of "guess" bets would certainly get the attention of the operators!

Of the 1st 3 races, the couple 1st timers I will be closely watching are in the 3rd -

Newlands.... I don't give it a winning chance imo, as I feel will be too short, but will be interesting to see how he finishes the race off....
Table Bay.... I do give this one a winning chance and will be having a few Bob on it at the current price....

The horses that ran behind Gregorian Chant that finished 3rd, Caballo Blanco, and 4th, Dancer, have come out and won next time out, and fairly comfortably as well. If there are no springers in the market, with natural improvement Gregorian Chant should win this.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Now that we have had the first autumn rain, expect to see some nice juveniles step out.
Race 1: We kick off with a very expensive maiden juvenile- R10milion spent on these yearlings. Moonrise sensation (R4m) is a big, burly colt and is sure to come on from his first run, and may be better suited to the 1200m. Cream Soda Green and Gregorian Chant have run well and should be involved in the finish again. Watch betting on first timers.
Race2: Rock on Wood and Trip the Willow should build on good debuts.
Race 3:Arctic Blast has been very expensive to follow, and ran a shocker last time, but he again stands out in a moderate field. Ramsden runs 3 juveniles, which could be anything.
We have Mighty Hash running, and he improved last time when brought back in trip. He should enjoy the 1200m, and we expect him to earn another cheque.

Race 4: Variance and Honest Ally have consistent form but Peonie Rock has more scope for improvement and a plum draw. We have Silver Laurel running- she will come on from her first run, and will enjoy the extra. From a nice draw, I would hope that she can run into the first three. Latin Storm and Moonsaballon also have scope for improvement after good debuts, but both have wide draws to contend with.
Race 5: Shall be Free is our best chance of a winner on the day. He was disappointing last time when fancied- he has a top rider this time, and again has a nice draw. His work has been good. We also have Twenty four Carat but he again has to contend with a wide draw. His work has also been good, and with a bit of luck in the running could earn a cheque. Flying Ryan and Gyre are the main dangers, while Gregor the Monk is a likely improver.

Race6: Field leg for exotics. If Irish Dynasty recaptures her best form she is the value bet.
Race 7: Megamind and Valerio are consistent and may be the right two, but this is also a very open race.
Race 8:Paul Reeves has a strong hand with Fifty Other Shades and Rebel's Idol. Prize Peg is improving, and should have a say in the finish.

I think flying Ryan will get one more chance from me. Decent draw. Strong jock and he will love the extra 200m. For me, 5/2 is a solid price.

The cream soda horse in the first should win barring a good first timer

I'm in Cape Town and want to go racing in Saturday. Anybody keen on going?
