Question--I see Anthony carded to ride today --wondering why he is not riding this horse but rather Craig.

THIS TRACK IS THE UNFAIREST IN THE COUNTRY, not sure why folk moan about the Greyville poly and Durbanville etc when this track has the biggest golden highway in South African racing

I have a few doubles , multiples and a yankee done.
I see all have shortened except for Cockade. ..so a little concerned about that one.

I think he'll win the first - looking at patterns that seems to be the only horse he's riding that looks progressive. Probably a pigeon catcher

Purely from a punting point of view, I have little problem with golden highways, provided that the golden highway is "consistent". My problem with them is more when, from time to time, they try to negate them, somewhere like Scottsville for example where they occasionally move the inside rail 5m in is a punter's nightmare, you either have to keep very good records to know when that has happened or historic form becomes something of a nonsense, there is obviously a big difference between being drawn 1 with no false rail and being drawn 1 (or wherever really) when it is 5m in and when studying form you would need to know that.
Either find a solution and make it permanent for all meetings or just accept it, I would still prefer being drawn 1 on the Vaal outside track than 14 on the Turf inside track etc and I think historic results might well show that to be true, though that is just my "impression". I do think though that publications could do more to inform, particularly new punters, of any bias.

Anyway, enough waffle on that, now for a little different type of waffle...

R1 No clue on the de Kock debutant so Girl On the Run might be the right one but I'm chancing a small go on Russian Friend who possibly has a draw advantage and was only 0.7l behind GOTR when they met previously. Although that was the latter's debut, RF was reported coughing that day. Small e/w.

R3 Count Tassilo looks to have strong claims. Value imo might be with Diablo Canyon. HMS Hood R1.

R4 My main idiot nibble of the day is Love Tryst. Think some of the turf form is perhaps better than immediately meets the eye and it is possible to make excuses for some of the not so good efforts, a repeat of her penultimate run would give her chances here imo. Should know more after today but if she does go well today, 33s won't be around nto! Silver Duchess up in trip and under Fortune also possibly worth R1

R5 Cockade but think Urgent Fury will be right there and my e/w shout

R6 Escudo could do best of those near the top of the market but decided to rather go e/w with Catch A Thief. Very consistent around this distance despite some lousy draws and I think she could be competitive today. Very open though and will monitor the price of Mirror The Moon who may also go well from a potentially good draw on 3rd run after a rest.

R9 Lemonade River e/w. tender mist and Kings V also got a little attention.
