No rain now. Likewise if there is no sunshine, I am afraid the meeting is a goner.

Steady drizzle in the scottsville area..did not rain at all during the day until about 5pm,which was more of a misty drizzle than anything.

1mm of rain in last 24hrs according to www.gallop.co.za/#meeting#20160117#27

Race 7, handicap: #3 SPANISH CAPTAIN; impressive in his first or penultimate run; a beaten favourite in his 2nd or last race; jock Delpech is hot; trainer Rivalland is in form; lightly raced; all books offering 15/10

Prosperous punting B) if there is racing

How on earth do the owners in KZN tolerate racing like this - Sprint meetings because they can't use the Turff bend. Sorry but there can be no excuse for this - just poor poor management and as a punter I don't enjoy spending my money on repeated sprint meetings with average horses running.

The schedule was for Scottsville to be suitable for racing by the beginning of Dec........................they then stated that the first 2 meetings in Dec would be down the straight as the bend was 2 weeks behind schedule ............it is now the 17 Jan :P ..........................of course it will be circumstances beyond their control.........lol

As punters we should boycott these meetings, all the authorities are proving is how desperate we are to gamble, even if the horses are substituted by elephants - talk about Hobson's Choice.

I think I'll watch the cricket and later the soccer.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
