TAB MEDIA RELEASE SUBJECT: Power failure disrupts

9 years 4 months ago
#595776
TOTE
DATE: 9 January 2016
RELEASED: Phumelela Gaming

A power failure in Johannesburg on Friday night delayed the declaration of
dividends for various races and bets and affected pool totals.
The power failure followed by a generator malfunction resulted in TAB
having to perform an unscheduled shutdown of the tote system. This in turn
resulted in TAB not receiving final scans of various pools from
international commingling partners like Isle Of Man and France and bets
from these sources were consequently refunded.
Pools affected were as follows:
GREYVILLE
Place Accumulator pool reduced by R142 088,58
Pick 6 pool reduced by R142 435,0
Jackpot pool reduced by R166 001,40
Quartet pools Races 7 & 8 reduced by R1685,62
DUNDALK
Jackpot and all pools Races 4, 5 and 6 refunded
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 6 refunded
JACKPOT QUICKMIX
All runners to qualify in two legs
SOCCER 6
Soccer 6 P2 closed about 25 minutes earlier than scheduled
TAB apologises to all customers for the unscheduled shutdown.

They need to explain - How does a PA, P6 or JP pool become REDUCED when the bets have been struck way before the outage and the pools are closed? I don't understand

The one thing about bullshitting is you have to remember what you said in the past.......lol :P
................................................so comingled tickets/money clearly comes in way after our pools close???...........with what security? ....................it was exactly why we believed that dividends were "strangely" low,and we were assured this WASN'T the case!!!!!!
Also,Imagine overseas punters who had winning bets and now get a refund ................another great advert for our industry!

Mr H,if we could reopen the threads when co-mingled dividends were being discussed ,we would see that many of us couldn't understand (or buy into) the explanations at the time.

Only a few days ago I suggested that the there seemed to be a reduced value in the PA ,but I am just a conspiracy theorist :woohoo:

It cannot EVER be legal to have a pool open when the races have already run hours ago - How can you refund part of a Pool that has already started. Something rotten here

Further to the concern of overseas punters ,one of the UK punters co-mingling via Betfair (how ironic) has called on Betfair to get a full acceptable explanation from Saftote (Sporting Post)...................apparently won over 4000BHP and got a refund instead!!!!!

Interesting that they had to "reduce the pool" and "refund the money"..................................seems like they get the money timeously but get sent the numbers way way later ....................4 legs of the PA had been run before the power failure but no ticket details received yet.................................and we wonder if dividends are manipulated????
We have been lied to from the beginning of co-mingling.
Lets face it ,if you consider how much adverse speculation there has been about co-mingled pools, the only reason I can think of as to why they would not provide proof that the speculation is unfounded, is because the facts are worse!

So they must know the amounts but not the numbers?

Sounds strange to me
