UK & Clonmel Thursday

R3 Taunton Ballyknock Lad (win or E/W). Ran well when second on chasing debut at Chepstow last time (only beaten a length) and should come on for the run. This doesn't look quite as strong and he can go well at around 9/2.

R3 Ludlow Always Lion (win or E/W). Good bumper horse who ran well when second on hurdling debut (winner has won again since and the field was well strung out behind). Should be able to build on that and can go well here at a very attractive 5/1.

R6 Ludlow Scales. This is a very weak amateur handicap hurdle and the selection usually runs in stronger races. Is returning from a break, but is exceptionally well handicapped on some of his recent form and has a very capable amateur on board. Assuming he is fit to do himself justice on his seasonal debut, he will take a lot of beating against this opposition. 3/1 or bigger is a very good price.

Last one for today. R4 Chelmsford Pirouette E/W. Things didn't go her way at all at Lingfield last time (drawn out wide and started slowly), but she stayed on very strongly in the straight from a hopeless position. Her previous second on debut at Kempton is decent form and in this weaker race from a better draw she should be able to make the first three at the very least. 11/2 is a very fair E/W price (she may well go off shorter).
