Summer Cup log 4/11/15

SANSUI Summer Cup log published on November 4 has seen a
number of adjustments being made to the one published on October 13 and the
result of the Gr 2 Peermont Emperor’s Palace Charity Mile had the biggest
influence.

The first three positions are unaltered. Inactive Legal Eagle remains on
top, twice Gr 1-winner French Navy, who ran a fair sixth with topweight in
the Charity Mile, is in second place, while Power King, who ran a cracking
preparation race in a Pinnacle Stakes event over 1200m at Greyville on
Sunday, is still in third.

However, well below par efforts by both Deputy Jud and Rampant Ice in the
Charity Mile saw them dropping from fourth and fifth respectively to
twelfth and thirteenth.

The inactive pair Judicial and Trophy Wife have in turn moved up two places
each into fourth and fifth respectively.

Mac De Lago moves from ninth into sixth place after a good fourth in the
Charity Mile.

M L Jet booked his Summer Cup berth with a courageous second place finish
in the Charity Mile that saw him soaring up the log from 15th place into
7th.

The Irish-bred import Flying The Flag could only manage twelfth in the
Charity Mile on his South African debut and has dropped from 9th to 15th on
the log.

Ultimate Dollar ran a disappointing tenth in the Charity Mile, but with
others dropping down he actually finds himself two places higher on the
current log in 8th place.

The inactive Balance was also shuffled two positions upward into 9th place,
while another inactive horse, Disco Al, was shuffled up three places into
tenth.

St. Tropez won a Pinnacle Stakes race over 1800m at Turffontein in good
style on October 24 and rises from 16thplace on the log to 11th.

Dynamic finished 14th in the Charity Mile and dropped from 12th to 16th on
the log.

Afrikaburn’s only run this season when third in a Pinnacle Stakes event
over 1600m at Scottsville on October 4 was a touch disappointing and he has
been shuffled from 14th position down to 16th.

Halve The Deficit remains in 17thposition after finishing eighth in the
Charity Mile.

There are then three new entries in the top 20, Ahlaam, The Centenary and
Alghadeer, thanks to a close defeat by St. Tropez, a victory in the Gr 3
Yellowwood Handicap and a victory in the Listed Jonsson Workwear Michaelmas
Handicap respectively.

Dropping out of the top 20 are Solar Star, Kingston Mines and Yer-Maan, who
were all uninspiring in their last runs.
