R4 Ascot Territories E/W. Not convinced this is the match between Solow and Gleneagles that the market seems to think it is and as a result there are some very good horses at big prices. The selection is a genuine Group 1 horse (hammered Kodi Bear in the Prix Jean Prat) who wasn't beaten far by Gleneagles in the 2000 Guineas despite that rival getting first run on him. Acts well with give in the ground (there is a doubt about Gleneagles on that score) and looks sure to go well here. Can make the first three at least and 11/1 is a ridiculously big price (which won't last).

Here's to hoping :-

17/10/2015 15:15:43 836974 HORSE RACING ASCOT UK Race 4 SOLOW Fixed Win 1.33 - Closed
17/10/2015 15:15:43 836974 HORSE RACING ASCOT UK Race 5 JACK HOBBS Fixed Win 1.25 - Pending
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Hobbs imo is better than Golden Horn but they can`t say that because Horn is retiring to stud and they want the "superstar "tag

Will shit in lump on...

R6 Ascot Balty Boys E/W. Has a fine recent record on the straight course here and doesn't mind a bit of give in the ground. Is probably drawn on the right side and today's conditions should be ideal (probably found the trip a shade too far is a hot little race at Chelmsford last time). As you would expect given the prize money, this is fiercely competitive, but he should run well at 12/1 (generally available).

Thought Jack Hobbs ran a slightly strange race. Cruised into the lead, then put his head up and started pricking his ears almost as if he was running green. Don't give up on him, Bob - he may well prove himself a champion older horse next season.

Hasn't been the easiest of days, but....

R5 Wolves Castilo Del Diablo E/W. The selection has been running respectably of late without really threatening to win, but this is a bit easier than his recent assignments and he should hopefully get the strong pace he needs to night (has also been dropped a couple of pounds since his last run). This isn't a particularly good race for the grade and he could go well at a price. 11/1 is fair E/W value.
