At an Inquiry held in Cape Town on 9 October 2015, Assistant Trainer Jonathan Snaith was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.15, in that as a licensed person, he submitted an Authority to Act form for registration when such form contained false information.
Mr Snaith pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Mr Snaith guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a R15,000.00 fine, of which R10,000.00 is wholly suspended for a period of one year, on condition that he is not found guilty of this Rule or any related Rules during that period.
Mr Snaith has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
FORTUNE for swearing and being abusive to a stipe that asked him to fasten a chinstrap(1k) then when leaving the enquiry he swore at the stipes again and was fined again ( probably should have been banned )
The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Port Elizabeth on the 2 October 2015, adjourned and resumed on 9 October 2015, Jockey Andrew Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.18 in that he swore at or interfered with a licensed official involved with the control of racing, after the running of Race 3 at Fairview Racecourse on 7 September 2015.
Jockey Fortune pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Jockey Fortune guilty as charged and imposed a fine of R1000 which is wholly suspended for a period of 6 months, on condition that he is not found guilty in terms of Rule 72.1.18 over the said period.
He has the right of appeal against both the finding and the penalty.
Further, at this Inquiry, Jockey Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.42 in that he conducted himself in an improper, disrespectful and abusive manner during the course of the Inquiry.
Jockey Fortune pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Jockey Fortune guilty as charged and imposed a fine of R5000.
Jockey Fortune has the Right Of Appeal against the finding and penalty.
Not sure if anything come of this but a PE trainer was also caught doctoring an AHS passport( hearing might still to happen )

JOCKEY SIMONS SUSPENDED
At an Inquiry held at its Head Office on 7 October 2015, Jockey Mr R Simons was charged with a contravention of Rules 77.1 and 77.2.11, in that a urine specimen taken from him at Turffontein Racecourse on 16 May 2015 disclosed upon analysis the presence of Amiloride and Hydrochlorothiazide which are banned substances in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority.
Mr Simons pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge.
The Board considered all the evidence given by Mr Simons and also took his record into account and ruled that Mr Simons be suspended from riding in racemeetings for a period of fourteen (14) days.
Mr Simons has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.
