I really feel for pierre , yes he made a very big mistake but that is just what it was, a mistake. Yes he cost some punters money but please remember how many times he won races that no other jockey could have done. Yes he will get punished by the authorities but he is still for me a living legend and this incident will only encourage him to come back even better than ever.

People are quick to forget how many times he been their hero , i truelly believe it was an honest mistake and its he that needs to live with it .

i will anyday still pick him to ride for my life

everybody is talking about how PS has "lost" the race, nobody is taking about AF how he "won" the race. He did not stop riding until the winning post.
The irony is, though, that AF has been accused many times before of not riding his horses out at the finish.

Over 30 years ago I backed a horse at Greyville,beaten under similar circumstances,and the jock admitted afterwards that he was fooled by the commentary!

Maybe nico can go caddy for strydom while hes enjoying his six months holiday..... :evil:

What are you guys talking about not giving P/S a big suspension or fine course his ridden so many great races and won money for punters on horses that have looked beaten. So why should other jockey be punished for the same kind of ride. He is man enough to admit he made a mistake and take what must come his way,we all make mistakes and have to learn from them,you never to old to be put in your place,and learn.

Of the 5100 odd winners Pierre has had i can tell you all that

-800 of them had NO right to win.

He delivers MORE than he costs.......

just simply a great jockey

We like to treat certain jockeys like heroes. they are paid to ride winners....not study form or try to be too clever when riding. As such same rules should apply to everyone!

with respect. .. nobody denies it was a mistake nor does anybody deny striker is a great jock. This ride in question was piss poor and we await to see what's the sanction. That's the bottom line.

not talking from my pocket but I admit first time in a short long while that Manne has Impressed me. Therefore I got to agree.
