come on people. know this is a dog show of a meeting and everyone's embarrassed to be punting it but lets have some discussion, as I know a lot of you will be punting it regardless. Not gonna give my selections just yet, I wanna see some discussion.
I will be going quite light this meet but I will still be punting. Thinking of a plc double or trebble.

Is it just me or does this card look easy tomorrow, I don't think exotics will pay too much

My place selections:

Gnna do a bit more form studying though before I make my final bets . Probably 1 place double and 1 place trebble is hwat I'll play maybe a small PA too.

Still gotta put in a bit more thought there. But I like these (selections attached) so far as place bets ,part of place multiples.

I like to do my rough selections the night before then refine them on race day with the added info available then.

Speed ratings (best of last 2 sand runs) for those contenders with previous VS form.

Best ever figure (historical) in brackets and number in [other] brackets.

RACE 1
85…Justash
81…Thrust
79…Magic
74…Cry of the Toreador
69…Tzitzikama Fire
68…Victor’s Folly (76)

Every STP runner on the sand deserves consideration – Rock on By

RACE 2
77…Pride in Battle
73…Arizona Pie
70…Eastside (79)
68…Catwalk Tease
59…Bad Dream
59…Kikusha

Sweet on You (72) has some sand history albeit last year.
However, draw positions over 1450m are often superior to ‘form’ – in come A Love Supreme and Shootforthestars.
Most likely quartet bet – double float 4+10 with 2-3-5-7-9 (240 perms).

RACE 3
86…Battle of Arcole
79…San Salvador
77…Icy Avalanche
71…Wont Wait
66…Uposeupay
61…Trusty Jim

The top 3 ran disappointingly last week…little confidence in them now. The draw is of little consequence here. Wont Wait looked, and was stated as, a well-drawn lively contender ‘lto’…but did not load.
Vaal sand trainer performance stats direct one to consider Pichichi and Sea of Green Grass.

RACE 4
99…Big Shot
96…Nero
91…Divine Grace
91…He is Magic
91…Diesel Power
91…Delamere

Big Shot maintained his good maiden form to excel on the slow track of 23 July… showed the racing style ‘sustained plodding-on’ that appears most suited to slower tracks, however the tracks have been more ‘standard’ since then. Meanwhile Nero is one of the most consistent sand performers around and Microstate (99) has some decent history which is not shown in current form.
Most likely quartet bet – double float 1+2 with 3-4-5-6-9 (240 perms)

Lower draws (1-6) over 1200m remain the most favoured…especially 1 + 2.

RACE 5
112…Velvet Verona
106…Rockingandrolling
105…Yukon Gold
103…Green Rock (106)
100…Nigell Mansell (113)

Captain Haddock, Fire Horse, Duty Dance and Benbow all have fairly recent history recording + 106…making this a very intriguing event.

RACE 6
96…Dravidian
96…Cosmic Tom
93…Shine Tiger (97)
91…Don Vito
85…Angel Gabriel (90)
84…Cool Kid
84…Flag of France (97)

RACE 7
98…Hawksworth
94…Mind Games
88…Return to the Sun
85…Forest View (90)
85…African Affair
82…Kopi Luwak (88)

RACE 8
103…Kosava
.81…Paree
.80…Seven Kingdoms
.76…Lady Casey (101…a couple of times)
.74…Danielle (88)
.72…S’Way (94)

Battle of Arcole certainly has the credentials to win this weak race, yet at 7/10 the risk to benefit ratio seems very poor especially when considering last weeks run when 4th behind Bevelled Edge. On a line through Red Savage (speed ratings) it is reasonable to conclude that Battle of Arcole ran 7 lengths behind his own previous form, furthermore he drifted from 7/2 to 6/1 in a relatively ‘still’ market.
Similar performances from San Salvador who ran 10 lengths behind his previous run and Icy Avalanche beaten a distance…if you are going to have a blip have a good one. Presumably there is nothing wrong with the latter if he runs today.

Whilst there is some evidence to dispute some of the runners claims there is little to support any of the runners. Therefore it is more with hope than ‘substance’ that I chose Icy Avalanche, Sea of Green Grass, Wont Wait and Pichichi to get through this first leg of the P6.

Nigel Mansell if fit will demolish this field. Look at his 2 wins on this surface scary i tell u. 1200m maybe on the short side but he runs from the start and being first run after a break should get away with it
