Racing City, Milnerton, GC, Investec and Phumelela Jigsaw Puzzle

Piece 1: Racing City, land purchased by Gold Circle up the West Coast, training and racing facility planned and announced some time ago through media releases and featured in columns in the SP.

Piece 2: Milnerton complex, prime land, worth a tidy sum, needs to be sold before Piece 1 can be developed as a racing centre to replace it.

Piece 3: Gold Circle, owners of pieces 1 and 2, sought after by piece 5

Piece 4: Investec, had the otpion to purchase piece 2 and the wheels could be set in motion by piece 3 to develop piece 1, Investec declined to take this up.

Piece 5: Phumelela, need to bolster the assetts again after selling off the crown jewels, not to interested in piece 1 (at least as far as racing is concerned) but would love to acquire pieces 2 and and 3.


It's a tricky puzzle and a clever dog is needed to see which pieces are linked together. A St Bernard for example.

It's political don't you see? While in GC-kzn the local chapter can hardly win one of it's own races, politically it is the stronger of the GC--alliance.
So while you may think GC is not vulnerable to the big dog, GC-kzn my well be inclined to let GC-ct go in a fatty exchange. Imagine, P could own the Met & the front door out of africa. The ct locals could all be issued a black dress with a white apron and a tray. Maybe they could even be forced to send their horses to the gomma gomma.

Gold Circle members, you have been warned.
Dont be apathetic, renew your membership, even at the new inflated price.
If not you will swamped, outvoted and rendered subservient.
