"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Tuesday 6th May Workings...
17 years 1 month ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed then, and went as follows......
The 1st runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.52 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was a well beaten 2nd, so a surprise result, and 'one that got away in hindsight'......
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.5, and with getting around 1.41 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 1.41 max. The lay came in 2nd after a battling finish, so a good result........
The 3rd runner was a withdrawal, so on to the next runner....
The 4th runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 1.85 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond under good support, we had a lay at 1.8 max. There was the a very important withdrawal before the start, as the main danger was pulled out with a 31.6% reduction, so we now wanted a lay price of 1.55 to make the full lay back up. The price went much shorter, so no problem and all back on again. The lay came in 2nd, so a good result........
The 5th and final runner we wanted 1.9, but a non runner and 12.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.79. The price was around 1.72 on arrival and so we had a lay at 1.72. The lay went and won a battle, so the way it goes. Only traders playing and they easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
WELL PLAYED........
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) didn't see no action when learning of the 3rd runner being a non runner, so they'll have the afternoon off and look forward to this evening..
'Bank building' strategy/target players will also look forward to this evening after that non runner, and the first runner being a no bet race forced them into taking the session off..
Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys...
So an unusually quiet afternoon, made quieter by the non runner and the fact we couldn't get a price on the first runner. Anyhow, all monies burning a hole in the pocket now, and we'll head into this evening. I'm not taking part as a bit risky looking (hopefully will go better than expected) with just the five runners etc, and I'll be having a round of golf instead. So good luck and speak in the morning..
Marc.

Morning.
The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows......
2.50 Kelso. FLIGHT LEADER (1.52)
Our price 1/2 (1.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.3 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that over hurdles he showed a tendency to lead, or race prominent, so no surprise to see the same tactics on this chase debut, which happens to 'appear' as a very low class race for him to start chasing*
3.00 Southwell. YAKIMOV (1.6)
Our price 8/11 (1.727) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.5 or under, we'll go in for a lay.
3.30 Southwell. GOODBYE (3.45)
Our price 9/4 (3.25) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.96 or under, we'll go in for a lay.
4.30 Southwell. WOOD CHORUS (1.92)
Our price 11/10 (2.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although she's lightly raced, she's also shown that she can race very prominently, so no surprise to see those tactics again today - Also please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*
4.50 Kelso. ROBBERS GLEN (1.88)
Our price 6/5 (2.2) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 1.9 or under. *Traders be aware, that although he's not a natural prominent racer, he doesn't need too many invitations to actually race prominent if there's not much pace on, so in this small sort of field with limited strength in depth, it wouldn't be any surprise to see a prominent display*
All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09:45am.
So just the five to work around which is a shame, as although we have 'just about' enough ammunition to warrant going into battle, we also have no room at all for any error early, so that adds more difficulty to our task. Also we need to actually get a start to determine any strategy play, but we'll just go in when we can and see what comes from it. Discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
