Didn't think the decision by the jock on the favourite was a good one to opt to switch for the inside - had he followed the line he was on turning into the straight (the outside fence), most probably would have won.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Not sure I follow - so a horse has to win as a result of what it cost at the sales? Sure somebody advised the buyers (or they decided themselves) that the horse was worth the outlay at the time - no guarantees though - as plenty of 'expensive' stock has been gracing the turf (or the poly or the sand) in PE and Kimberley :huh:
