They did warn everyone that he was doubtful, but scratching would have saved antepost punters money

Personally i think that the Champs Cup is more the horses ideal distance besides it was second in the July last year. It is in the interest of the owners to have two July winners at Stud...... The rest of the noise is just distortion to me.

Yes they did maintain throughout that he was a doubtful starter - however when they 'declared' Fourie as the jock last week, I think it made many people (me included) wonder - so imo they could have waited with naming the jocks :(

I agree that the Champions Cup is a more suitable race for him - so the aim is to have 'July and Champions Cup winner' on his CV before going to stud.

As far as the stable is concerned, this may open the door for Dynamic to get a run - imo one of 6 horses competing for 4 places

Frodo, they will definitely go for the Queens Plate with Legislate before retiring him and possibly the Met. You then have two Stallions that have the July, QPlate & Met on their CV's.... Not that i am accepting that Futura will automatically win the July.

The Queens Plate is more valuable to the breeders than the Champs Cup.

Saw this one coming  Good for business, not good for racing, never going to see a Legislate vs Futura again. Still convinced he wouldn't have made top 5.

Too many horses got close to him on Saturday rated about 100, he needs another big performance before he retires, or hes no chance against the likes of Variety Club and the established sires at stud imo

Bob, the only scalp missing is the Queens plate, he already has the course record over 1600m..... and he will be the most versatile on offer more because of his performance over 1600m coupled with the fact that he won over 2000m plus...
