"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Wednesday 30th April Workings...
17 years 1 month ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows......
The 1st runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.46 on arrival and not dropping down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner came in 2nd after a battle, so a surprise result and 'one that got away in hindsight'......
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.1 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, and so another race to avoid for all. The runner was easily beaten and so the drift justified and another 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 3rd runner was now a non runner, so on to the next.......
The 4th runner we wanted 2.9, and with drifting to around 3.4 on arrival and then being withdrawn, it was monies back and on to the next runner..........
The 5th runner we wanted 2.8, but a non runner and 6.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.69 (2.7) nearest exchange price. The price was around 3.55 on arrival and never came down to us, so with never seeing our lay price at any stage, it was yet another race for all to avoid. The runner was beaten, so yet another another drifter justified, and 'one that gets away in hindsight'.......
The 6th runner we wanted 2.32, but an important non runner and 26.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.97. The price was around 2.08 on arrival and only got bigger and bigger, so race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner went and won very easily and so a good leave this time.......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.6 on arrival and only getting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten, so another drift justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 8th runner we wanted 1.9, and with drifting to around 2.64 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see anywhere near our lay price at any stage, so another race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so yet another drift justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'......
The 9th runner we wanted 1.46, and with drifting to around 2.0 on arrival and only getting bigger, you guessed it, it was another race for all of us to avoid. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner this time, but more importantly a good leave.........
The 10th runner was a non runner due to the ground changes, and so on to the next runner.........
The 11th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 2.84 on arrival and only getting bigger, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten, so yet another drifter justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'.....
The 12th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.96 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay (wow) at 2.8 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.1 and slightly beyond, so a chance for traders (builders finished for day) to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result....
The 13th runner we wanted 2.7, and with a few non runners and the price too high, there's only a bit of trading left at the table and so I'm leaving there guys. Good luck if you proceeed, but angry with the clerking today and need to chill out a bit....
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED....
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them), never got a sniff today with all those drifters, so a dull day, and levels.
'Bank building' strategy/target players also never got to test the water with all the drifts, and they too finish levels with no action...
Traders had a couple of trades and both went well, so they got a sniff and made a little, and that's OK.
So all about the weather and the clerking of the courses today. As we've broke level I can have a whinge (wouldn't if lost as sounds like excuses), and I have to say we were so mislead by the grounds and 'predicted' grounds for today. Not easy I know, but trust me when I say we were mislead today, and all the hours put in were wasted to be fair. Anyhow, such as life, rant over, and we'll put it down to a bad experience and move on......Speak in the morning lads, and good luck if you have a go this evening...
Marc.

and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.5 or under.
All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:13am.
That's what we have to work around for this afternoon's session then. A mixture of races and make ups, and although it's certainly never easy with that unexposed nature in force leaving us vulnerable to those drifters and gambles, we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum as always, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
